Ed Orgeron Comments On Kardell Thomas Return To Practice This Week After Ankle Surgery

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday morning and was asked to comment on freshman guard Kardell Thomas who returned to practice this week for the first time since having ankle surgery back in August.

"His recovery has been accelerated a little bit...he's done a great job," Orgeron said.

"We look forward to him being back on the team. Obviously he can't go full speed right now but he's doing some individual drills and we'll see where it takes him but he's not ready to play yet."

On a possible timeline for his return:

"I don't know, we need to see if he can go full speed in pads and were not ready to do that yet. Trainer Jack Marucci is allowing him to do some individual drills and we'll see how that progresses."
