Injured LSU offensive guard Garrett Brumfield will not be ready to play Saturday vs. Mississippi State, according to head coach Ed Orgeron who joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday.

Brumfield has not played since the Louisiana Tech game on Sept. 22 but was present at both practices this week.

"Garrett has bounced back, but he's still not ready," Orgeron said. "He a team leader. It's good to have him out there. But he's still not ready. Still coming along, a work in progress."

"I'm happy it's not a season-ending injury," Orgeron added. "No question."

He could be close and if this weekend I’d bet he’d be playing. Another week is a good plan
