BusinessInsider.com recently ranked college football’s most loyal fan bases, and seven from the SEC were in their Top 15, including LSU who was ranked No.8.

Here is what they had to say about the LSU fan base:
quote:

8. LSU Tigers Fans:
There is arguably no place more terrifying for opponents to play than LSU’s Death Valley – a number of opponents have made the claim. Tiger Stadium, which will soon house over 100,000 fans per game, currently sits as the 10th-largest college football stadium in the country. As you’d imagine, the school has had no problem filling it each year – they finish in the top ten in overall attendance seemingly every campaign. Annual contests against Alabama, Arkansas and Florida usually produce some wild scenes in Baton Rouge.

Back in 1988, after a game-winning touchdown pass from Tommy Hodson to Eddie Fuller against Auburn, the crowd noise reportedly registered on a seismograph as a small earthquake. That pretty much tells you all that you need to know about LSU fans.
Complete Ranking:

1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
3. Ohio State Buckeyes
4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
5. Georgia Bulldogs
6. Michigan Wolverines
7. Florida Gators
8. LSU Tigers
9. Penn State Nittany Lions
10. Auburn Tigers
11. Texas A&M Aggies
12. Texas Longhorns
13. Tennessee Volunteers
14. Oklahoma Sooners
15. Clemson Tigers

"Bama is such a joke at #2. You could not find a Bama fan during the Shula years. They sit on their hands until a big play happens. Nobody loses to Bama because of the noise in Bryant Denny."

Well, I was and my wife was - so there's 2. Every team that is a Dynasty has fair weather fans. Deal with it.

I made the trip to Georgia this year. Most disappointing SEC environment I have been to on the outside of the stadium. No tail gating, nothing happening. The crowd was great once the game started but that place has a long ways to go to be on the same planet as Tiger Stadium.

Been to games at OU. You can hear a pin drop there and the tailgating is awful.

Bama at 2 is a complete joke. They have one of the most fair weather, bandwagon fanbases in all of sports. How many of their fans were auburn fans till Saban showed up?? Alot.
