On Friday, LSU announced that instead of hosting a traditional Spring Game on 12, the team will hold an open practice at Tiger Stadium, followed by an autograph session for fans.

Head coach Brian Kelly met with the media on Saturday and discussed LSU's decision to change the spring game.

Real reason... No reason to let players audition for transfers.

What coach says makes perfect sense to me. If you have only got 15 days to practice, why waste one day planning for a “recital”. I always enjoy the spring game, but they’ve got work to do.

I agree. But it's a shame that another tradition has gone away. 20 years from now the game of college football will probably be unrecognizable from what it is even today. But of Course I'll be 95 and also be unrecognizable

As a retired HS coach I prefer this new format. In years past I went to LSU practices & got plenty of great ideas. It’s actually more physical than a spring game which is closer to being flag football

“My reason is we haven’t gotten enough special teams work.”

We’re going to have at least 3 losses again aren’t we?

Maybe. Tell me how many great teams there were in college football last season and what were their records? It’s a new age.

Going to? Or maybe we're "going to" win them all. Which is why we play the games. You elect to be pessimistic, while the rest of us hope for the best
