LSU sophomore edge rusher Arden Key was one of 10 players added to the to Chuck Bednarik Award watch list on Tuesday.

The award is presented annually to the defensive collegiate football player of the year. Per LSUSports.net:

Awarded to the nation’s best defensive player, Key joins fellow Tigers Jamal Adams, Kendell Beckwith and Tre'Davious White on the Bednarik Award watch list which is in its 22nd year of honoring college football’s top defender.

Key leads the SEC and ranks No. 5 in the nation in total sacks with 7.0 and has registered at least a .5 sack in five of six games this year. His 7.5 tackles for loss ranks eighth in the SEC. Key also leads the SEC and ranks sixth in the nation in fumbles forced with three. Key is averaging 1.17 sacks per game which is fifth nationally, while .50 forced fumbles per game is tied for sixth and his 1.3 tackles for loss tied for 39th.

He is a part of an LSU defense that has allowed six touchdowns in six games which are the fewest among FBS teams this season, as the Tigers are the only team to hold every opponent to 21 points or less this season. In the last eight quarters of action, LSU has only allowed 17 points and is averaging 14.0 points per game allowed.

AK is having a great season, and imagine what he will do next year with 10-15 more lbs on his frame, and more exp as an edge rusher in Aranda's system....crazy!

There were some folks in full-on tard mode immediately after the Auburn game. Who the hell complains about giving up 18 points and 0 touchdowns?

"Yet there have been people bitching about Aranda's defense." Who would complain you ask? Tiger fans, that's who. Never underestimate the stupidity of the rant!
