Talented five-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher from Amite, LA spoke to reporters at The Opening last week offered some updates about his recruitment.

Sopsher is expected to release his top five school's list later this month. Teams expected to be in the running for the 6-4, 296-pound prospect are LSU, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, and others.

One kid from Amite went to Bama. More front Baton Rouge have went there than Amite. O was hired for kids exactly like this. He has to land him or 2 of the Mississippi studs. No excuses.

First of all Devonta smith signed with Bama and the only reason he did was because a good friend of his father and his family is on the Alabama team and been working his family and him for years. And when DT Ishmael Sopsher was asked about Smith's decision he said as much and that he wasn't as close to the guy as Devonta was. And also if you look at last year Coach O literally put a fence around Louisiana kids and Alabama came up empty, Saban only signed 2 kids from the Boot that wasn't very high on LSU board. Believe me Lil Nicky and Bama came at LSU Louisiana committed kids very hard and couldn't flip not one of them,Coach O basically shut down that Bama to North Louisiana pipeline. Just like last year this year will be the same Nicky and his cronies will come up empty from Louisiana if he do get a kid that kid won't be significant to LSU.
