Jay Johnson Reveals Pitching Plan for William Schmidt and Casan Evans

LSU will be without pitchers William Schmidt and Casan Evans for the remainder of the Florida series so that they can be available for the SEC Tournament, head coach Jay Johnson said.

While the decision is likely the right one if the Tigers want any chance of making the NCAA Tournament, Johnson said not having Schmidt or Evans vs. Florida makes him "sick to his stomach."

"We have to make sure those guys are lined up and healthy," Johnson said. "And when you have to win five in a row, there’s no question that those two are going to be a part of that pitching plan, and maybe multiple times.

"Do I love not having William Schmidt in Casan Evans against Florida? No, I hate it. It makes me sick to my stomach."
