LSU guard Daryl Edwards had surgery on his foot Thursday and will be out for the rest of the season, according to head coach Will Wade.

Edwards, a senior from Fresno, California will apply for a medical redshirt. Per The Advocate:
quote:

He played in the first seven games before having the foot issues, which kept him out of the next two games. Edwards returned for the Grambling game on Dec. 1 and Incarnate Word contest on Dec. 9 but hasn’t played since.

To receive a medical redshirt from the NCAA, a player may not have participated in more than 30 percent of his team’s games.

LSU has 31 games on its regular-season schedule, so Edwards comes in just under the threshold of 9.3 games.

Just about to get up to speed on LSU B-ball team. Was this kid a big contributor or did he ride the pine mostly?

Pine rider for the most part. With the emergence of Javonte and the JUCO kid along with Tremont and Skylar he was going to be the last guy up. Wish him well.
