LSU Goes For SEC Title Saturday Night vs. Vanderbilt

The No. 10 LSU Tigers (25-5, 15-2 SEC) take on Vanderbilt (9-21, 0-17 SEC) Saturday night at the PMAC for a chance to claim school's first regular-season SEC title since 2009. The Tigers will be without head coach Will Wade as he is serving an indefinite suspension.

Tip-off is set for 7: 30 p.m. CT and will be televised on the SEC Network. Per LSUSports.net:

The Tigers, 25-5 overall and 15-2 in the SEC, and the Commodores will meet in a sold-out Maravich Center at 7:30 p.m. in the final SEC game of the season. Vanderbilt is 9-21 and 0-17 in the league. Ceremonies honoring the senior players, Kavell Bigby-Williams and Daryl Edwards, and the senior managers will begin at 7:10 p.m.

The Tigers enter Saturday tied for the league lead with Tennessee. The Volunteers will play at Auburn on ESPN at noon with that game setting the stage for what will happen in Baton Rouge that night. If Tennessee wins, then LSU will need to win to be a regular season champion with Tennessee. If Tennessee loses, then LSU could win the league out right with a victory over Vanderbilt.

Should both teams lose, the possibility of a three-way tie for the title would exist if Kentucky won in an afternoon game versus Florida.
