Per LSUSports.net: The LSU Men’s Basketball team defeated Illinois State, 77-61, Monday morning in the John Gray Gymnasium in the first game of the Cayman Islands Classic.

The Tigers will play either Akron or Western Kentucky at 12:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday in the winner’s bracket.

LSU was lead in scoring and rebounding by KJ Williams who finished with 33 points and eight boards. Adam Miller added 13 points and Cam Hayes scored 10 as well. Justice Hill had a team-high five assists.

They are improving game to game but still have lots of room for improvement. Three point shooting may be a problem if Miller is off or guarded closely. Other players need to step up in that regard.

This is shaping into a great ball team...Let's see what late DEC and JAN show us and we will gauge just how great they can be year 1. So far so good great team basketball so far!
