Former LSU star and Brooklyn Nets rookie Cam Thomas was named Co-MVP of the NBA Summer League on Wednesday, along with Sacramento Kings’ Davion Mitchell.

Thomas was the leading scorer in the summer league and was named First Team All Summer League. Per SBNation:
quote:

Thomas, taken at No. 27 in the NBA Draft, and Mitchell, a lottery pick at No. 9, tied in media voting for the most valuable player. Both were also named to the first team All-Summer League. Thomas, out of LSU, is 19; Mitchell, part of the Baylor national champion squad, is 22.

Thomas averaged 27.0 points per game, hitting 2.3 3-pointers with shooting splits of 42/36/85 and 56.7 percent true shooting efficiency. He led the league in scoring with the third highest scoring average for a rookie in league history. His 36 points vs. the Wizards was the highest single game total in Las Vegas since 2018.

Lol @geauxldninja.. NBA average field goal percentage, across every shot taken in 2020-21, was 47% and 3 pt was 36%. He’s shooting 5% below league average. Therefore he’s not an accurate shooter, just shoots a lot. You are the dumb one. Check your numbers next time champ

Trey Murphy from the Pels should have gotten some votes also.

42% field goal and 36% 3 pt pct isn't good. Must take a hell of a lot of shots like AI. Is he actually good or just takes a ton of shots.

Steph won the MVP 2x in a row shooting 50.4/46.8% FG and 45.4/41.4% 3pt. I am going to go out on a limb and saying 42% and 36% for a 19 year old rookie is good.
