LSU announced Friday morning that LSU freshman guard Javonte Smart has been cleared to play in Friday's SEC Tournament game vs. Florida. Per LSU:

LSU’s Javonte Smart Cleared For Play

NASHVILLE - LSU has cleared freshman Javonte Smart for today’s game against the University of Florida in the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Smart has fully cooperated and participated in a joint inquiry with LSU and the NCAA resulting from reports of wiretapped conversations purportedly involving Head Coach Will Wade.

Smart was held out of the regular season finale against Vanderbilt out of an abundance of caution in cooperation with the NCAA. Though the inquiry is not closed, after multiple additional interviews, there has been no wrongdoing identified to date. As a result, and because of his full cooperation and transparency in this matter, Smart has been cleared by university officials for play on Friday.

LSU has a severe lack of leadership. This entire situation was brought on by media types such as Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale. LSU's "leaders" being the spineless weasels that they are capitulated to media reports. Not one other University has mishandled this situation like LSU has done. Zion Williamson was shaking down every School he was interested in and Duke is sitting there acting like there is nothing wrong. But what should we expect from an AD who threw his LaCrosse players under the bus based on rumors and the word of a prostitute. Alleva has zero credibility at this point. LSU Athletics are flying blind.

Gang, I feel like I've posted a lot of insightful opinions on all of this on the comments on these posts. This however just boggles the mind, that the player in question can play, but the coach cannot. It either means another player is potentially an issue, so that is why Wade is sitting. However, if they know who the player is, why isn't that player sitting? If they cannot figure out which player, how in the hell can they hold Wade accountable? Regardless, it is Friday, the powers that be have fricked this up beyond a point of reason and I'm going find some grilled alligator for lunch.

Or it means that the third party and Smart' s mom never mentioned anything to him.

"As a result, and because of his full cooperation and transparency in this matter, Smart has been cleared by university officials for play". Not so subtle jab at WW. Bunch of dicks.

So if they found no wrong doing with Smart, does that not mean Wade should be cleared as well???

At this point, I'm guessing it's no longer about wrong doing as much as the LSU officials are pissed that WW blew them off. Their pride is getting the best of them.

Good for JSmart!! That being said, Fking, Williams, and Alleva aren't fooling anyone. None of you are heroes. This most embarrassing situation was of your own creation, so get bent. Hit the bricks, the lot of ya.
