There has been a lot of chatter and reports this week that LSU is targeting McNeese's Vice President/Director of Athletics, Heath Schroyer, to join LSU's athletic department.

New LSU President Wade Rousse worked alongside Heath Schroyer at McNeese and collaborated with him on hiring Will Wade in March of 2023.

It was reported on the Tiger Rant Sunday that LSU was targeting Schroyer.

Fast forward to Wednesday, and college basketball insider Jon Rothstein has confirmed that LSU is working to bring Schroyer to Baton Rouge.

The latest news has only increased the buzz around the idea that Rousee and Schroyer, along with LSU athletic director Verge Ausberry, could work to bring Will Wade back to LSU.

Wade spent two seasons at McNeese after his dismissal from LSU and led the Cowboys to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including their first-ever tournament win, a 69-67 victory over Clemson.

Following his two years in Lake Charles, Wade landed the NC State job last March, signing a six-year contract. The Wolfpack went 20-14 under his watch this season with a trip to the NCAA Tournament's First-Four.

LSU becoming McNeese Junior College of West-Southwest Louisiana at Lake Charles 2.0. MJCOSWLA@LC not to be confused with Southwest Louisiana Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette.

Lot of fuss and inferior administrative hires to hire a coach who had a 0.625 winning percentage in SEC play

That’s a weird way of saying he won about 105 games in 5 years. How many has McMahon won?

McMahon has been terrible. Doesn’t mean Wade is worth all of this. There are better coaches out there.
