Four-star shooting guard Brandon Sampson from Baton Rouge, LA (Madison Prep Academy) announced this morning that he has committed to LSU.

Sampson is ranked as the 39th best player in the ESPN's Top 100 and is the No. 1 overall player from the state of Louisiana.

He choose LSU over many schools like UCLA, Oklahoma St, SMU, Cal, USC, Virginia Tech, TCU, and St. Johns. Per LSUSports.net:

He averaged 15.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists this past season. The four-star recruit is listed at No. 39 in the ESPNU Top 100 and No. 41 by Rivals. His head coach at Madison Prep was Jeff Jones.

“We are excited about the addition of Brandon Sampson to our basketball team,” said LSU men’s basketball Coach Johnny Jones. “Brandon has the ability to score efficiently from all three levels. He can shoot the three, score from mid-range and because of his athleticism he is able to finish plays at the rim. He has the uncanny ability of making other people around him better. We look forward to Brandon making an immediate impact with our program.”
