During his radio show on Monday night, LSU baseball head coach Jay Johnson said that outfielder Chris Stanfield swung the bat Monday “full go.”

Stanfield has been out of the lineup since the second game of the season when he suffered a hand injury. Per NOLA.com:

Johnson doesn’t expect Stanfield to be fully available on Tuesday, when the Tigers face Creighton in their final game before Southeastern Conference play (6:30 p.m., SEC Network+), but he did say that Stanfield could start playing in games in a limited capacity.

He hopes that Stanfield will be ready to return to a starting role in the lineup in 7-10 days.

“With the type of team we have this year, his skills that he brings to the table are unique, and they fit with everyone else,” Johnson said. “Having him out, it’s made us a little bit vanilla in a way.”

Really hoping the last week was an anomaly & not indicative of this teams play moving forward. It would really suck watching another highly ranked LSU team squander the season. Gotta believe CJJ will right the ship.

Hurry back in the lineup. Needed badly in left field. Now if we can get 1st base straight and find a couple leaders in the dugout we should be fine
