2026 LSU Baseball Commit CJ Weinstein is one of ten players on the MaxPreps National Player of the Year Watch list, which was announced this week.

Weinstein 6-1, 190-pound infielder from Newport Beach, Calif, attends Orange Lutheran, where current LSU outfielder Derek Curiel played.

Weinstein committed to LSU coach Jay Johnson back in November of 2024.

Catholic HS in Baton Rouge has Jewish kids. And no name is a guarantee of religious affiliation these days.

I spoke to him and his dad at a game last season. Sounded like he was excited to come. Not sure how much his draft stock had changed since then.
