The Oakland Athletics selected LSU outfielder Greg Deichmann No. 43 overall in the second round of the MLB Draft on Monday night.
Deichmann, a junior from Metairie, La, went .322 this season with a .430 on-base percentage and hit 19 home runs.
The No. 43 pick carries an allotted slot value of $1,597,300.
