LSU freshman pitcher Jesse Stallings was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year Award which is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.

He is the only freshman pitcher on the list.

Stallings joins South Carolina sophomore Taylor Widener and Missouri junior Breckin Williams as the only players from the SEC on the watch list.

The NCBWA will announce five finalists for the 2015 Stopper of the Year – the Division I national saves leader and four other relief pitching standouts – on Wednesday, June 3, prior to the start of NCAA Super Regional competition. The NCBWA's All-America Committee will select the winner, with this year's recipient to be announced during the 2015 College World Series.
