"It seemed like the right fit for me," Doughty said. "I always knew I wanted to wear that purple-and-gold and I love the coaching staff and the plans for the future. There was no other place I'd rather go to college."

Doughty is in Cary, N.C. at USA Baseball National Training Complex finishing tryouts for the 15U national team that will play in the 2016 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 World Cup in Iwaki, Japan. He is o the 40-man roster and is trying to make the final cut for the 20-man team that will head oversees.
