Gold Weekend At Alex Box Stadium

LSU fans headed the Alex Box Stadium this weekend for the Tigers series against Mississippi State are encouraged to wear gold. Per LSUSports.net:

The Tigers will wear gold jerseys for all three games of the series as a tribute to LSU’s 1996 national championship team, which is celebrating its 20-year reunion this weekend. The 1996 team wore gold jerseys during its drive to the College World Series title.
“The tremendous history of LSU Baseball offers a lot of inspiration to our players,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “We’re wearing gold this weekend to honor the remarkable 1996 team and to inspire our players to perform at a championship level. Our 2008 team, which had a 23-game winning streak down the stretch, drew inspiration from the ’96 team during that streak, and I see a lot of similarities between this team and our 2008 team.”
