USC Getting New Black Matte Helmets?

I don't understand why teams who don't have black in their color scheme get black unis/helmets. Makes no sense to me.

Kentucky is one of those teams who has made one of their home jerseys mostly black. Their colors? Blue and White. (And that black jersey of theirs isn't just one of the Nike or UnderArmor "One Game Specials" either.) Go figure. . .
