re: Mahmud Abdul Rauf Says The NBA Is Not As Good As It Used to Be - RonBurgundy
But there are plenty of advanced metrics that show that Scottie was a great player (defense being a big part) so metrics aren't the issue in those cases (saying Pippin wasn't great), ignorance or dishonest would be. The problem is the "eye test" without any corroborating data, or worse yet, o...
By the way, since you and Mattz brought up DeAndre Jordan, he's had 1,226 rebound this season... that's the most any player has had since Dennis Rodman in 1993-1994. Before that, it wasn't done since Moses Malone in 1978.
that's quite impressive, he's a great rebounder(for ...
The rules are what's inhibiting the college basketball product, not the caliber of athlete
I strongly agree but the development at the AAU level has stunted development. Bigs are the best example and one can go back 15 years of lackluster American bigs. That's why Okafor ha...

re: Mahmud Abdul Rauf Says The NBA Is Not As Good As It Used to Be - RonBurgundy
The game is the best it's ever been. We are in the golden age of professional basketball RIGHT NOW. That's not debatable.
It's the best version of this era's style of play and when the talent regresses back to the mean, for several reasons, such as injuries to promising players, pl...
I evaluate the game based on objective data, and can support my arguments with evidence
that's an effective strategy, however I think a few points are lost on half of the MSBers. Data-i.e. PER isn't perfect. There still a lot of information unknown at this point. Especially defen...

re: NBA title odds:are you the next Haralabos Voulgaris - RonBurgundy
I've generally liked/respected the Rockets as an organization for a long time, I've seen them screwed by the refs and victim to injury, but some of the MSBers make it tough to see past that. It will be interesting to see if these name brand role players (Smith,Brewer) and both of their stars show...
