Les Miles / Jimbo Fisher Story

So I was speaking with one of our corporate lawyers today and he had an interesting story regarding the botched Les Miles situation.
He said his brother works as an attorney in the Law Office that takes care of LSU's contracts. He said Les Miles was informed the morning of the game, win or lose he would be fired. He stated his papers where filed and ready at the office. Also of note was that Jimbo had accepted the job and just needed to sign the paperwork and that this was an ongoing thing. Office also states that paperwork was drawn to hire Bo Pelleni as the defensive coordinator. The office said the booster's had raised the $15 million buyout with ease.
The attorney said that the Governor's office contacted F. King and said that if they cut Miles, the state would reduce their funding by the $15 million that TAF had appropriated as it would be bad business for a state in a deficit. King told Alleva that he would be retained and supposedly just before the game Mile's was informed and you can see his jubilation. There is apparently a video on YouTube of this encounter.
tl/dr Lawyer claims Miles was fired, Fisher and Pelleni had drawn contracts, and the Governor stopped it.
Obviously it is a far fetched story that could be completely fabricated, but would be interesting if true.

Couldn't care less. Season starts in 3 weeks.
That's not in regards to your story, which I believe. But more in the backroom dealings, politics, etc. He was retained, trimmed fat on the staff, upgraded coaches and signed a boss class. Time to nut up or shut up for Les.

I think that's right, but I do like the moves in the aftermath with the new coaches, so its a wash. Hope everyone gets the message and that the performance on the field will improve...

It was just a interesting story. It actually made sense of how it went down. The guy who told me is always a straight shooter, and the way he told the story actually had me believe it. I think honestly something close happened and that is why we had such a cluster.
As others stated, it needed up working out for the best. Sorry for the typos, on an iPhone.

In 3 weeks, we will see if Miles cares more about his Ego or the Lsu Fans--we will see if he truly bleeds purple and gold..

As pissed as I was we didn't get Jimbo I'm glad Les is still here. Without Les we have no Coach O, no Coach Dameyune Craig and no Dave Aranda.

So if this in an air raid offense he cares about the LSU Fans and if he hands off to the best running back tandem in football it's ego? GFY.

Well Jimbo can have the job in 2019 once Miles contract ends, as I expect Miles to retire around then

DALSU?
A source that was posting that Les was out, jumbo in. Reportedly worked for law firm handling contracts or had contact doing same. Subsequently roasted on the rant - poster stood by story and stated budget problems stopped deal.

Louisiana political intrigue
I use to think we were in a league by ourselves but having lived in other states I can only say that Louisiana is only more dramatic and has more flair than other states with their political happenings. and LSU is a state institution more so than other states.
I can assure you the Tejas governor and state legislature is so crooked it makes Louisiana look like the minor leagues.
please understand that the vast majority of the state legislature has a degree from LSU, even if it's just their law degree.
imo, i'm glad miles was retained. I like the man representing my alma mater.
