re: Spinoff: OB Preferred Dove Shotgun Shell Thread - dawg23
The worst is, by far, Randy Wakeman
I agree. But I don't think he posts on shotgunworld. Some of the master class shooters on SGW have excellent frames of reference on terminal ballistics. I think they probably offer better perspectives than the average shooter on the average...

re: I don't get the idea of open carrying everywhere. - dawg23
you can always approach the church leader and have them post it as gun free zone.
All churches in Louisiana are already gun-free zones (unless the church leaders and designated armed members comply with specific requirements imposed by the Legislature). Of course it's possible that ...

re: CCW Question - Public Restrooms - dawg23
I use a paddle holster also. It just seems like it's going to "unpaddle" and fall off.
Never had that issue with a Comp-Tac (although, as was mentioned by others, all of my slacks have a zipper ) Seriously - I tried a lot of paddle holsters before running into Greg Garrett (o...

re: CCW Question - Public Restrooms - dawg23
Walk in, unzip, piss, zip up, walk out.
As you said, this is sort of a strange question ... unless you're carrying AIWB. I use a Comp-Tac paddle holster, at 3:30-4:00 position, carry everywhere (except for NPE's) every day. I just don't have an issue with #1....
I bought one for my wife. She loves it.
How many rounds has she fires through it ?
i've got a performance center 642 with a ported barrel.
Not a great idea for a self-defense weapon.
round capacity
Yep, that's a big negative. A 9m...

re: I don't get the idea of open carrying everywhere. - dawg23
Open carry is look at me, in your face behavior .
Far too many are attention whores with absolute no training in handgun retention. Sure am glad they're protecting our 2nd amendment rights. p.s. I derive HUGE amounts of money from teaching CCW classes. So my...

re: What are some Do s and Don't s Regarding cancealed carry? - dawg23
Don't pull your piece unless you are planning to pull the trigger.
Disagree. Don't draw your weapon unless you are WILLING to pull the trigger. But understand that you can't legally use deadly force (in Louisiana) once the threat has ended. So if the dude drops his knife ...

re: Spinoff: OB Preferred Dove Shotgun Shell Thread - dawg23
Rio 7.5
This. The following comments are true for my shotgun/choke combo. Might not be true for your setup. 1 ounce, 1210 ft/sec #7.5 Rio loads break clay targets at distances beyond those at which that I'd shoot at a dove (50 yards). The #7.5's retain more energy than ...

re: Monarch Light Dove Shotshells? - dawg23
I had not seen that calculator -- I like it better than the ones I've used before. I really haven't used any recoil calculator since I bought my A400 and had a recoil reducer installed. Every load feels pretty much the same - from target loads to duck loads. ...
quote: 1-oz. 1350 ft/sec is not a light load (as relates to recoil).

I tend to agree, just going by how they labeled it. You think recoil will be comparable to a 1 1/8 oz load at ~1200-1250 FPS?
I'm not sure -- but here's a link to an article that will come close...

[link=(http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php?sid=91a0b678a44da563711eac19de4b652f)]LINK[/link] I shoot thousands of rounds through my A400 Xplor every year -- most are sporting clays target loads (lighter than dove loads), some are steel duck loads. I've shot this gun for six years. I cle...

re: Snakes just want to be friends - FB video - dawg23
Seems like there was a thread a year or two ago that illustrated the difference(s) in how a water moccasin swims and how a banded water snake swims. Is there a definitive way to distinguish between the two based on how they swim (body floating vs. body underwater)??...

Not sure about the details of the tax credit, but the BBB I had (2006) wasn't street legal. (No brake lights, no turn signals) And yes, the BBB's have a huge turning radius. I sold mine a few years ago and bought a 48 volt Beast. Zero problems with the Beast....
