re: Mossberg Silver Reserve II Side by Side 12 Gauge - dawg23
I like them for hunting, I like double triggers and there are more SxSs with double triggers than O/U, A SxS and an O/U handles much better than a semi auto or pump.
Good explanation. When I hear people talk about double triggers, I always recall a buddy who shot his first round ...

re: Mossberg Silver Reserve II Side by Side 12 Gauge - dawg23
I have to ask -- other than liking its appearance, why the desire for a side-by-side? They are generally considered harder to shoot well than an O/U or a semi-auto (on the skeet & sporting clays fields). ...

re: IWB mag holder recommendations - dawg23
No suggestions on mag pouch, but kudos for understanding that carrying a spare mag or two is a good idea (especially with a limited capacity pistol like the Shield). Statistically, the mag is one of the more likely reasons that a top-tier gun might go TU. I carry a spare 17 round mag all the time...

re: Smith & Wesson didn't make the Army cut - dawg23
Looks like a Glock military coming
Let's hope not -- Glock prices would go higher (for the civilian consumer) and availability of Glock 19 & 17 would drop (for civilian consumers). ...

re: Help me find a concealed carry pistol - dawg23
1. You've been given a lot good advice -- mainly to get a 9mm and carry it in a manner that allows a one-handed draw. 2. Bodyguard is one of the few pistols that has a worse trigger than the LCP. But the real answer is to quit thinking about .380's. 3 The best advice you've been given is to ...

re: Can I haul a golf cart in the bed of a F150? - dawg23
OP just needs to find a way to back in the golfcart into the truck, that way wouldn't a majority of weight be in bed?
I think the weight is pretty evenly distributed in most carts -- for sure if it's electric. My shooting/hunting carts have always been electric, and the batteries are ...

re: Just bought a Franchi Affinity - dawg23
Not the exact model you bought, but ............one of my co-workers has a Franch 620 (20 gauge). He's not very tall, and has sorta short arms, so it's a youth model that fits him perfectly. That gun has never failed to cycle low brass target loads (sporting clays) & never failed to fir...

.22 Ammo Is Pretty Abundant - dawg23
As everyone has probably noticed, .22 ammo is back on shelves. But of greater significance, it's not only available, it's actually abundant. I'm sure there are even better deals out there -- this one just happened to hit my computer toady as sales flyer: [link=(http://www.ammunitionsupp...

re: Opinions on Palo alto and hunters run gun club - dawg23
Then that is way out of the norm. I've shot there well over 100 times, never had a problem with more than 1 in a session. When informed about it, they take care of it right away. Not beating the Hunters Run drum, just stating what it really is. It's certainly not a dump and you can pretty...

re: Best single stack 9 for cc - dawg23
if I was making the grip length as long as a 19, why not just carry the 19.
This. OP will be much better off adapting to the G19 - he won't shoot the Shield or the G43 as well (rapid, accurate shot placement) as the G19 -- (eta: Unless his name is Miculek  ). You can't susp...

re: Don't Buy a New Design When Shopping for SD Handgun - dawg23
I never even drank the Gen 4 Kool-Aid. Glock's Gen 3 design is thoroughly tried and true.
Agreed. Actually I carry a Gen 2 (I just prefer to not have the finger grooves). But I'd have the same confidence in a Gen 3. ...
