The worst handgun ammo you've ever used

May I nominate this absolute dogshit:
Saw this shite at the range recently jam, double-feed, stovepipe, and fail to cycle the likes of a Glock, a Beretta, and a CZ.
You name the malfunction, and it did caused it.
Never seen anything like it.

I feel like I have a bunch of this. Can't remember if I have shot it or not. I remember getting some PMC that came in an MRE bag. Whatever gun I was shooting was absolutely filthy afterwards.

Yep. I bought some too. Read the reviews later and everyone was blasting them about how bad they were. I have like ten boxes too.

"Ammo, Inc."?
That's like buying something from the grocery store labeled nothing but "Food, Inc."
MagTech 38Spl. threw mostly keyholes out of my S&W 642. No other ammo did that.

I bought a bunch of Ammo inc 300BK subs. Can't get them to shoot out of my shorter barrel pistols, key hole, flyers, and even a strike to the endcap of a suppressor. Works fine in the longer barrel guns though.

I’ve never seen that brand. I’ll avoid.
Blazer aluminum case is something I’ll never use again. I won’t shoot any aluminum case again as well.

I've had inconsistent boxes of decent brands like federal. Box of 200 9mm, great, but the next box shot so dirty that stuff was just falling like dirt being thrown on the table at the range. Just one box, but it was bad.

Sounds like perfect practice ammo for getting some "tap, rack, bang" drills in

"Worst" handgun ammo is tough to specify...
I've shot some old surplus (obsolete caliber) that had a bunch of duds and hangfires. That was the 9mm Largo from Sarco, I think it was Santa Barbara.
In contrast, surplus Tokarev (both Yugo and Romanian) have been great. The Warsaw Pact made some good ammo, that stuff is probably over 50 yrs old and it's been flawless.
Before Covid, the worst commercial manufacture ammo I shot was Remington UMC 9mm. QC was bad, had a couple rds set at different depth. Notably different recoil on some, from the same box. Couple duds.
I have, since Covid, shot Tula steel-cased 9mm, and even that has been better than the UMC. It's dirty, but that's fine if you clean your guns.
Magtech used to use some funky powder, wasn't clean at all. But it all shot. Aguila 9mm was the same way, but kinda smelled like cat piss.
Winchester White Box used to be crappy, pretty inconsistent in loads. Not much better than UMC.
I've shot Turkish 9mm, think it was branded Yavex at the time. Consistent and very hot, probably pushing +P easily. I didn't chronograph it but some folks did; and it was hotter than some SD rounds. You get a big fireball shooting that stuff. After consideration, I'd hesitate shooting that in anything older or considered somewhat fragile, as it beats up the guns but good.
Blazer and Blazer Brass are fine for range loads, and gentle with your guns. Very soft.
At least before Covid, pretty much any 9mm from Europe was good to go; S&B, Fiocchi, PPU, MEN, etc.
We saw a huge surge of new 'brands' appear during Covid, such as Turan, Mesko, etc. Haven't tried any of that yet.

Dammit. I bought about ten boxes of this in 357 and 44mag. I’ve shot through one box of each. So far no issues but I’m shooting carefully bc I’m concerned about squibs.

What is the headstamp on that stuff?
The worst I ever had was Barnaul headstamped sold in boxes marked Republic.
That crap would lock up either of my CZ P-10Cs after only 3-4 rds. I would have to disassemble the pistol, remove the extractor so I could extract the slide, and drive the live round out with a dowel.
My Glocks will fire as many as 8-10 rounds before jamming on that shite but it is easier to clear.
I got a thousand round case of that shite, haven't even fired one box.

I have fired over 100,00 rounds (literally) of Blazer thru G19's. I find it to be the most reliable and cleanest ammo I've ever used - compared to WWB, PMC, Federal and Magtech (all of which are reliable, just a little dirtier.)
One last comment/anecdote. A few years ago I drove to Jerry Miculek's place in Princeton and spent 2 days of one-on-one training with him. Each day an older neighbor/friend would stop by at lunch time and they would shoot at little .22 size steel plates at 50 yards to see who would buy lunch. Both days Jerry borrowed a couple of 9mm Blazer rounds from me to use in the "lunch contest." He told me he wanted the Blazer because he knew exactly where it would hit out of his G19. (This told me he had shot a lot of Blazer thru his G19 and trusted it).

I have never had any trouble with the aluminum Blazer either, been shooting Steel Challenge with it. CZ P-10C, never a problem.

I’ve never had a problem with Blazer or really any cheap ammo. I’m worried about the Ammo Inc stuff though after reading reviews. As long as there’s no squib it’ll be ok bc revolver.

The stuff I had problems with was headstamped "ammo inc." It was also svlwverly underpowered. Would barely cycle a mailbox-style red dot slide and wouldn't lock back on last round at all.
Btw, lots of folks saying Blazer Brass. Never had a problem with any of that.
Also never had any problems with aluminum Blazer. Glock and CZp10 just eat That stuff like it's nothing.

Aguila 9mm was the same way ... smelled like cat piss.
That's a sure sign of old powder/propellant.
Unique, when it gets old ... Bullseye too. (Pistol powders)
IMR 4895, RG 4895 ... same thing, they get old and smell like cat piss plus they all lose a lot of umph and will drop several hundred fps in the vel dept.
If you smell cat piss and are having malfunctions you have to be on the lookout for an obstruction, or a squib.
