re: Miles to Michigan 2007

I don't buy that the Herbstreit "Miles to Michigan" announcement had anything to do with it. If West Virginia had beaten Pitt that day, it would have been WVU-Ohio State in the title. I think that would have opened the door for Michigan to get Miles. Miles stayed with LSU because he still had a chan...
Michigan at this point is really desperate, its a big program with loads of cash but we have completely fallen off the map since the loss to OSU in 2006. I think Miles is a guy who could unite the fan base, recruit well, beat OSU one day, make Michigan competitive in a not so great conference, et...
I think it really depends on the coach and not the program. The only reason Miles leaving is an issue is because of his ties to Michigan. If Michigan had a headcoach who was an LSU guy or a Florida guy they would likely leave if the opportunity called. Myself I want to be a college prof one day a...

The sanctions from the NCAA were limited to a small cut in practice time, they may have taken away a scholarship or two. It was a slap on the wrist thing, no post season ban or significant scholarship reduction....

re: Brady Hoke?????

Hoke has publicly said that Michigan is his dream job. If Miles doesn't work out Michigan could just give him a phone call and he'd be on his way. There isn't a need for all this Michigan decal covered plane flying to his city hullabaloo to get him. Hoke maybe be a good coach but I feel like were...

re: WSLD vs WWYD

Les already has accomplished as much as anyone else has at LSU, national title, the 62-17 record, continued the great recruiting. His alma mater is a mess now and its probably his last chance to coach there at his age. If he turns around Michigan then he would be a legend at two schools....
The Michigan AD has been really quiet about the whole situation. He hasn't stated any candidates or a timetable. It's all speculation at this point. You'll probably see an official "[insert name here] officially named the next head coach at Michigan' before you hear the Michigan AD say anything rega...

re: Why does UM want LM?

Posted by Michigan Man1817 on 1/9/11 at 3:44 pm
Right now Michigan does not have personnel on defense and I think Miles would do the best job rebuilding the talent in the next couple of years....
I think the athletic department is less of a mess than you think. The UM athletic director always has the power to make the decisions he wants. Bill Martin went ahead with the luxury boxes despite overwhelming disapproval from most of the fanbase. I don't think UM has ivy league envy. It's a gre...
And what is Michigan going to do if miles declines?
I would guess it'll be an up and coming coordinator from a big school....
If we hire Brady Hoke or some other nobody the AD really screwed the pooch on this one. It seems like alot of people in the athletic program at Michigan say Miles wants to coach at Michigan. I expect Miles to be leaving LSU in the next few days....
Where's Bill Belichick on your list?...
Every fan base has delusional fans, no way Gruden or Cowher coach in college....
Miles' buyout is what, 1.5 million? The AD has that under his sofa cushion. Michigan will spend big bucks to get a guy like Miles....
Michigan has the money to match the market prices....
I find it hard to believe she doesn't want to move back there....
I think the transition would be different than pro style to spread. Miles would have to tailor his offense around the talent he has, not the other way. Michigan will probably pretty awful either way next year because of the lack of players on defense....
I just feel like nobody is considering the fact that Alleva could throw a ridiculous amount of money in Les' face, and nobody in Louisiana would complain. This state breathes LSU football. But I don't think Michigan is in the same situation.
In the Wednesday press conference the AD...
I can't imagine a successful NFL coach at a great franchise would leave to coach college. All this Gruden, John Harbaugh talk is ridiculous....
