There are very, very few programs where a coach would likely stay his entire career. Even then, it depends on the coach's final goal.

For instance, I would put USC in the list of schools where a coach would never want to leave, yet Pete left for the NFL because he obviously wanted to be there long-term. The list of jobs where a coach would probably stay forever IMO are:

Notre Dame
USC
Florida
Alabama
Texas
tOSU
Michigan

That is it. Now, before I get berated, let me explain. Notre Dame and Michigan are obviously down quite a bit, but if a coach would turn those programs around I cannot imagine a coach leaving, unless the NFL comes calling. Florida, Texas, tOSU, and USC are self explanatory. To further explain, those are the schools I cannot imagine a head coach voluntarily leaving for another college. NFL, maybe, but not another college. Now, just because a school is on that list does not mean that they can cherry pick their head coach, ala Harbaugh/Michigan and Mullen/Florida, but rather, a head coach in place would not leave for another college gig.

Programs like Oklahoma and LSU are on the cusp of that tier, but not quite there.

I'd probably remove Texas and Florida from that list.

Except for a situation like this (going back to alma mater or home), I think LSU is in this tier now. It certainly wasn't in the past.

Please, there's no difference between LSU and Alabama in this regard. If anything, it favors LSU.

Except the national appeal. You are delusional if you think LSU is a better head coaching gig than Alabama.

Meh, I think after Paterno leaves, coaches would go in and out of that program. Reminds me of FSU. Jimbo would leave if another college came calling with the right amount of cash IMO.

VT is like Penn State and FSU in regards to places that have/had very long-term coaches, but only because of the coach's demeanor and not the program prestige IMO.

Seriously ask yourself this quesiton - "Can I ever see the head coach at one of those 7 schools leaving for another head coaching job in college?"

The answer is no.

Left for NFL.

The OP asserts that no coach would leave for another COLLEGE job. He states that NFL is different.

He left for the NFL. No college is immune from that.

You can actually make a list of programs that had their coaches either FIRED or RETIRED. Otherwise this is just an opinion, but the core of your list is solid.

How do not put Oklahoma on that list? Stoops has had offers.

Not sure but I don't think he is an Oklahoma guy.

Although I think it's all about the person. Most people get bored at their jobs and want a change no matter what it is.

one can make the point those are "destination" schools but one can also make the point that LSU is now a destination school. any coach, at any of those programs, destination school or not, might leave to go back home. home is a big draw to some.
