Heading to Denver for a week....

First time going and staying downtown. Any cool recs as far as places to go, breweries, etc....? Naturally I have looked online but would like first hand experiences rather than "tourist traps".
Red Rocks has always been on my list so that is one thing I will certainly do.

When are you going? Red Rocks usually goes on hiatus late Oct/early Nov through the winter.

You need to get out of Denver for a bit if you’re going to be there for a week. There isn’t THAT much to do. Go to Breck/Summit County in general for at least a day or two.

As someone else said, if you're going for a week, get out of Denver for a bit. I can usually stand a weekend of bar hopping in LoHi, RiNo and Baker / Wash Park, but it gets old quick. So much good hiking and other towns nearby that are worth seeing.

Appreciate the suggestions!

I'm also looking for ideas of things to do and places to stay with the family.
We are going skiing in February but I have to stop in Denver for two days to meet with clients before we head to out to ski.

Rufus du Sol is at Red Rocks Saturday and Sunday. I'm sure the shows are sold out but you could always buy resale. They are phenomenal live and seeing them at Red Rocks is a bucket list item for me.

Send them to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (i'm sure you will have a car rental). Most amazing zoo I have ever been to.
Larimer Street is cool with lots of breweries. Red Rocks to hike/walk around it. Golden downtown after Red Rocks is also neat. I don't your kids ages but Denver has a very cool Childrens Museum. The outside may be shut down at that time (snow/cold) but it blows ours in Nola and BR out the water.

I’ve only been once for a day but some of the things I remember were:
Coors Brewery tour - Definitely don’t have to be 21 to go, but it may be 18?
Union Station
Then around Colorado Springs which isn’t far at all there were a few really cool things to do. Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and the Air Force Academy were all fun to check out.

Did red rocks yesterday- hiked and took in emd show just because. Awesome. Will def be back for a show I would like to see.
Nola Jane downtown for beers and food- cajun restaurant that shows lsu/saints games and food is actually legit.
Coors tour booked up until end of month- oh well. Did Great Divide Brewery and Tivoli Brewery today- oldest brewery in Colorado.
Planning to head to Boulder Monday- updates then.

I use Denver as a gateway to Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and the peak to peak towns. More to do and tons of great breweries.

Mountain Sun and Southern Sun in Boulder are good spots, depending on which part of town you're in.

You can still tour the venue though.
