Favorite and least favorite US airports

Favorite: Going with Philly (PHL), nice spread out area that has some good food and pretty easy for connections. Easy to get into the city or surrounding area using septa rail or uber for around $20. Baton rouge is good for a small airport, but needs better food options besides the WOW cafe.
Least favorite: Newark (EWR). I'm here now and can tell you nothing has changed since I lived in jersey 16 years ago. Waiting on a delayed flight with 1 food option (ruby tuesday) and it's packed in this cramped, banjo style terminal area. There are always air traffic control delays and horrible traffic to drive locally, let alone dealing with the 'wonderful' employees working here.

Least favorite: Kansas City. Have not redesigned the airport post-911 so really hard to get food or drink after security.

Least favorite: San Diego, small and cramped, never enough seats for the departing Southwest crowds.
My current fav is DCA, as I really liked the beer selection and iPad quick and easy ordering at the bar & grill.....way better/easier than having to order from a harried wait staff, and you paid electronically when you ordered. A brilliant system for an airport.
Agree that Phillys better than average....lots of shopping/food options after security and plenty of seating, including sofas, rocking chairs, etc.

Best: PDX
Worst: LGA
The worst terminal is the United terminal at Dulles. Just terrible in every way.

Worst: Airport itself isn't that bad (actually some pretty good food options), but I think i''m done flying through CLT when going back to LA to visit. Always taxiing forever....
Flew through EWR for just the second time this week, agree the food options are terrible for an airport of it's size.
BTR could really use some upgrades itself...
Best: I always liked ATL, whether connecting or when I lived there for a bit. Super efficient security, good food options, and can get around to different terminals very quickly and easily.
Would agree, PHL isn't too bad. The LGA terminal i've always flown out of was decent as well (so is JFK), but I know many people hate LGA.

Tampa is very good, Ohare is very bad. That is all.

Denver, Bush and DFW are pretty good, Key West sucks.

MSY is my favorite.
I can get in and out very quickly. I hope the new terminal is as easy to get in and out of but I doubt it will be.
I used to live in Georgia years ago and even then ATL was 1-2 hour deal. I cannot stand to have to connect through there now and when Atlanta is my destination it takes at least 30 minutes to get the rental car. ATL needs another airport desperately but Delta will never let that happen.
I hate SAN---too cramped as someone else mentioned. I hate MSP and STL.
I agree MCI has few food choice but I do like getting off the plane and walking 150 feet to the sidewalk and taxis.
I like BNA ok and LUV. DEN is good for a big airport and has plenty of food choices.

I don't travel nearly as much as some of you, it I found the Indianapolis airport to be a nice, smaller facility.

Favorite large airports
DFW- Very efficient for a large sized hub
ATL- Same, although overused.
SFO- Simultaneous offset instrument approaches are cool.
DEN- Spacious, super efficient in the summer. Busy, but you don't realize it.
Favorite medium airports
RDU- Modern terminal. Flight options are abundant. Nonstops to London and Paris, daily.
CLT- Very busy hub, but the food court is centrally located, and features giant rocking chairs.
SAN- One of the best final approaches around. Kickass location, close to downtown, and good flight options.
Favorite small airports
JAC- Awesome approach from the south, next to the Teton Range. Simple airport underneath the mountains.
PEN- Nicely located airport in the middle of the Redneck Riviera with decent flight options.
GPT- Great terminal, very easy to use. Each airline has its on gate.

I enjoy layovers in Detroit. One of America's crappiest cities actually has a very nice airport.

Least favorite: Kansas City. No where to eat past security, ugly as sin, dimly lit, and it just gives off a depressing vibe imo.
Favorite: Detroit is shockingly nice considering how terrible the city is. Charlotte isn't bad either.

Favorite: DTW. I've been through several times and always had a good experience.
Least: EWR. Frick that dump.

I like DFW particularly the A, C, and D terminals.
AUS is a good airport with lots of food options, united and admirals club, and a lot of flights for a city of its size.
For some reason MIA gets a bad rep on here. I enjoy it. It's a nice clean airport with lots of options and friendly staff.
CLT is too crowded, everywhere - the terminal, the taxiways, the runway. I really try to avoid connecting through there.

Favorite- Newark. I know the OP does not like it, buy the international terminal is like an upscale shopping mall with very good (but expensive) restaurants. I have always liked hanging around there. For my least favorite I will go across town to LaGuardia. It is a dump. I was there a couple of times in the last few years and was surprised at how dingy it was. MSY does not get a lot of love but I have always found it to be one of the easiest, quickest and most convenient places to navigate.

They're rebuilding LGA from the ground up. Only thing is congestion will always be an issue due to the intersecting runways.

Laguardia and O'Hare are my least favorites.
Always liked Salt Lake although it's been years since I've been there.
Detroit was a surprise. Burlington made me feel like I was in a Newhart show.

I'll say this, I hadn't flown into/out of LGA in a long time. Went American over Christmas and I was really surprised at how nice it was.
Tons of restaurants and bars, many of which had the iPad service, which I hadn't used before. It gets a bad rap but they seem to be turning it around.
