re: Best pair of travel shoes? - Nodust
Merrel makes some full Leather shoes that are good for walking. I wore a pair around Disney a few years ago. The funny thing is they were more comfortable for hiking than their "hiking" style shoes which I'm not crazy about. ...

re: Would you buy a diesel truck for the same money as gas if you could? - Nodust
Not sure what he had, but my buddies 2014 1 ton ford could be nursed up around 21mpg if he tried to get it there. Normal driving it was more like 17-18 IIRC
Over the life of the truck it ain't getting 20 average. If you check mileage every tank for a year I'll believe what you advert...

re: Would you buy a diesel truck for the same money as gas if you could? - Nodust
I've had two diesels that needed work before 150k miles. Three gas trucks that made it past 175k and nothing but an alternator or something simple and cheap. The diesels not so cheap. Gas engines last a long time now. Just as reliable as diesels. Not to mention they sink like the titanic in wet ...

re: Would you buy a diesel truck for the same money as gas if you could? - Nodust
disagree there. What kind of fuel mileage does a gas 3/4 ton get these days? 15-17 mpg not pulling? I am still getting over 22 mpg. Times that by 200k miles and I think I am saving money on fuel.
That's about 3000 gallons of fuel. You will break even at 200k miles. Although mos...

re: Would you buy a diesel truck for the same money as gas if you could? - Nodust
For $0 difference he'll yeah get the diesel. But unless I'm towing a bunch the $5-10k more isn't worth it. Besides my gasser has almost the same power as my old Cummings had. And gas engines are so much better than just 20 years ago. ...

Black creek is fun hiking. Flat for the most part. Some parts of the trail weren't maintained great but I've heard it's in good shape now. Wild azalea in Kisatchie is great. You can also make a 28 mile Loop with the backbone trail, Caroline Dormon, and sandstone trail. Really fun easy two day hi...
