You could always go with an Old Firm team. Lots of reasons to like one of those two and both are successful but still not one of the "bandwagon teams" many people think of when they speak about soccer.

In the Man City/Hotspurs match, I found myself rooting for Tottenham, and shite that was cause of their kits mostly.

If I picked an MLS team, itd probably be Dallas, cause Kenny Cooper shares my last name

Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton are the few I've looked at and have some interest in, recognize some names from Fifa 10 and the US team

I'd be happy to welcome you aboard to red train! I need someone else to talk shite about United with. And if you became a fan now you could dodge all the idiotic "bandwagon" talk because we're in 7th place.

And the best part about being a Scouser is "You'll Never Walk Alone."

Yeah, and that means at some point in the next four or five summers, I will have to spend three weeks in sweltering heat getting yelled at by some drill sergeant so I can retain dual citizenship. Hopefully I get in the same group as Enes Kanter or Ersan Ilyasova so it isn't too much of a pain in the arse

I'm not even kidding about that since Hedo Turkoglu and Emre Belozoglu did their 3 weeks in the past couple of years.

One of my best friends is a huge Liverpool supporter. I'm not sure why since his family is from the Midwest, he was born in Milan, and has lived in over a dozen countries, none of which were England.

easily the two greatest songs in all of the EPL.

I'd consider Pool my second team after THE Man City.

Watch the World Cup. Pick some players you like from other countries. Follow their club teams when the news season starts in August.

This.

Teams of note:
EPL:
Chelsea- my EPL team, I lucked into following a team that got Mourinho two years later. Lots of annoying players though (Alex, Deco, Ballack, the two Coles), but some great ones as well.

Man U- Wear red, their manager is extremely annoying ("Typical Germans"), have Rooney.

Arsenal- Red, Wenger's worse than Ferguson (United's manager), given money by Arabs, full of short players.

Liverpool- Red, no money (for now), manager might be leaving, best player (Torres) is going to leave, "You'll never walk alone"

Tottenham- "Jewish", good players, manager is insane.

Man City- Arab, good players, manager might be gone, bandwagonner's flavor of the year

SPL(if you're going to watch this, don't expect the highest quality):
Celtic: Catholic, Irish, Nationalist, on-off relationship with the IRA, "You'll never walk alone", the team I support
Rangers: Protestant, English, chant "F the Pope"

La Liga:
Barcelona: great team, great players (Messi), great manager
Real Madrid: great team, great players (C Ronaldo), manager might be gone

Serie A:
Internazionale- Milan, Mourinho, CL finals, great defense and players
AC Milan- Milan, have been better in the past, Beckham's Euro team
Roma: Rome, not completely insane
Lazio: Rome, called "Nazio"
Juventus: Turin, getting new manager, stadium the fans hate

Bundesliga:
Ask Hendo

Ligue 1 (my bias shows here):
Lyon- Perfection if Puel is murdered tomorrow
Marseilles- Champions for this year
PSG- Paris
Bordeaux- About to be raided by the EPL and La Liga

We are given money by American Jews and Uzbeks damnit! Arsene Wenger has become slightly less whiny over the years.

Very nice summary and you weren't biased at all in your descriptions. Only thing I would really disagree with would be Joe Cole as an annoying player. What's wrong with him?

Joe Cole just rubs me the wrong way. My only bias is with the French teams. OL or nothing. It's a family thing.

lots more spurs fans on here than city fwiw. plus spurs play some ugly football.

that's why I rep trabzonspor all day

Really, it's difficult to find a team to watch outside of the premier league. EPL gets a lot more games broadcast than Serie A and La Liga. If you do pick a spanish or italian team that isn't huge you will rarely see your team play, unless they are playing said megaclubs. you could consider german teams as well, but it's kind of the same thing as la liga/serie a.

I plan on going to St. James' Park at least once during my upcoming year in Hull. I've heard the atmosphere there is electric. I also plan on going down to London to the Emirites and possibly to one of the Manchester/Liverpool stadia. I will probably have an epiphany on my fandom based on these travels and if Hull can emerge from the ColaShip after only a year (aside from their inevitable slaughter against Leeds).

Serie A gets shown by FSC a few times. La Liga and Bundesliga are shown on ESPN3.

I'm definitely no United fan, but Old Trafford would be something to see!!! If City still played at Maine Road, that would be awesome too, not that CofManc stadium isn't great.
