Look I respect others opinions but if all you have to say is go frick yourself you aren't really adding to the conversation. I am interested in reading responses from people who are interested in politics so please be quiet while the grown ups are talking.

This is a great time to introduce a Constitutional amendment setting up a peaceful secession process.

For the 1st time you would get blue state support.

You're a little whiny bitch from Cali. Go frick yourself. Y'all can't be grown ups and figure out how to compromise? Go frick yourself. Think your opinions are higher and more golden than the rest of the country. GO frick YOURSELF.

Point well made. That's why in the OP I said I always felt like the South should have been allowed to secede....democrats have traditionally been the barrier and for quite a while the south has been subjected to a progressive movement that went against their traditional values especially Christian ones. Turn about is fair play....I just wonder if we would all be happier separate yet allied.

Something about losing the world's 7th largest economy sounds like a bad idea to me.

I have often thought the South should be allowed to secede....the views, values, ways of life are different than other areas. I believe that people should be governed by people with congruent values. I left the South because my views/values are different....now living in California I find myself supporting the idea of Calexit. We are so different here, why not amicably split? I read on this board all the time how much people dislike the Left Coast....have we reached the point of splitting up?

Great idea concerning California seceding and I salute you for your astute analysis. Here I have a new name for your Prog/Lib/Dim utopia......., Mexicali......, what can I do to assist in making this happen?

Just curious....what makes you suddenly want to leave the Union? Was it Trump being elected or has it been moving that way for awhile?

Not I.

First, I would be happy to see them leave.

Second, I believe in the right of secession.

I am NOT leaving.... so are 100 of my closest colleagues.

The left wing infestation in California will be cured eventually.

It is too awesome of a place to go down the crapper

A California secession would be bad for all parties involved.

Aside from feeling good, how exactly does Calexit help California? California would still need to trade heavily with the U.S., except in a Calexit scenario it would give up its ability to participate directly in U.S. politics. Republicans would then dominate U.S. politics. All the so-called racist homophobic misogynists coming out of the woodworks since Trump has been elected would still exist in an independent California and would still be as empowered by the words of U.S. leaders.

California would be free to take in all the immigrants they want to. They would go bankrupt incredibly fast
