You need your face punched until you are no longer recognizable
Why would that offend you? I think that the South has held its value system is very respectable. I think that the culture is something that should be kept there. ...

Thanks Shamrock.I am not trying to be obtuse I just think much like Walmart the country has become too large to function efficiently anymore. Maybe it's time that we look into breaking up into smaller subsets and to see if we can manage them more efficiently...

I don't have some brilliant idea for a utopia. I just don't believe we are a nation of like minded people anymore. Is it time for that to change? Do we divide up the nation? Edit: pager is going off again I'll have to continue this later....thanks for the discussion though...

Our borders are already fairly fluid. If they want to be here they already are. Most of us here don't mind. I just want to assign them a state number used to collect the same state taxes I'll pay. ...
How will California deal with the inevitable mass immigration if they leave?
I imagine some would move left and some would move right. Not sure how that would be handled. Maybe like musical chairs....in 30 days where ever you are is where you are a citizen......

Sorry single payer.... That's a tough one. Being In Healthcare i see both sides...the incredible waste on futile care, the screwball system of insurance vs. self pay, the incredibly fricked up system of the Feds paying for undocumented patients....I honestly don't have a good fix. I support tran...

re: Would anyone object to a Calexit? - jennBN
Wow...there is a lot to respond to... First, don't assume I am a SJW/snowflake/Liberal. I don't vote party lines and I would feel just as strongly about possible Calexit if HRC had won. Federal taxes aren't going down under either party. My question regarding secession was more theoretical. ...

re: Would anyone object to a Calexit? - jennBN
Point well made. That's why in the OP I said I always felt like the South should have been allowed to secede....democrats have traditionally been the barrier and for quite a while the south has been subjected to a progressive movement that went against their traditional values especially Christian ...

I wish but all my coal stocks already went belly up and I doubt he can raise the dead....plus isn't the global economic slow down (like china) also a contributor?...

Look I respect others opinions but if all you have to say is go frick yourself you aren't really adding to the conversation. I am interested in reading responses from people who are interested in politics so please be quiet while the grown ups are talking....

re: Would anyone object to a Calexit? - jennBN
The viability is real....at first this seemed far fetched but reading some of the analysis...I can't believe how self sufficient this state is. It is remarkable the resources it has...and if you consider Washington and Oregon as being interested in joining Calexit...the possibilities are endless....
I'm for it
Me too! I want to still be friendly...be able to visit the US with a passport of course. But I can't think of many reasons to stay. This concept has been on the news everyday since the election and is the water cooler topic daily at work....

I understand the hurdles. I am asking more why anyone would object to California leaving if you deeply disagree with the way of life here?...
