I won't tell you who said this, but it was by a man who was thinking rationally and well beyond his time.

Why do you think we still have a total war on drugs, even after both sides admit we lost years ago?

If you're unfamiliar with the inner-workings of our criminal justice system, I saw firsthand years ago why we will never be able to decriminalize schedule I drugs, and certainly not in one swift move; there is entirely too much money made by the state as a result of their criminalization.

While politicians babble about morality, gateways into a darker path, and safeguarding communities, it's all complete and total nonsense.

I believe the Drug war corrupted the entire country, and made crime and violence a way of life in America.

The war on drugs quickly became a war on marijuana smokers, which is a travesty of justice.

The responsible use of marijuana causes no harm to society, and should be of no interest to the government in a free society.

Just follow the money...

The answer would then be 'death'.

Thousands of kids have died over the years from potheads driving around "high".

You need a better argument.

If that's the case, DUI should be a capital offense, not possession.

I hope that's satire, but if not how can alcohol possibly be legal.

There's the rub however. I'd say 90% of folks that light up aren't in it for the medical use, they're in it in trying to outdo Cheech and Chong when it comes to getting wasted.

I go back and fourth on this. Weed is fine with me along with everything else. However, the users annoy the frick out of me and I'm not allowed to partake becuase I have a real job.

A) I think you'd be surprised at how many non-nagger "users" there are that you don't even know about, who B) have "real jobs" (or run their own companies).

I know a lot of wine drinkers who don't fit that bill.

Oh no believe me I know lots of normal non retard users. However, the annoying ones would need to be sent to camp first.

If also all for legalizing herion and the likes and not worrying about the users eliminating themselves.

Medical use is the only responsible use?

As far as medical use goes weed helps me: sleep, calm down, relax, cut mood swings, exercise, etc... With almost 0 side effects, no chance of Overdose, no physical addictiveness, and no hangovers.

But I can't do it. It's illegal.

So instead I'm forced to drink alcohol, take xanex, ambien, Adderall, coffee, and nicotine all of which are dangerous when used improperly and atleast 3 of which are extremely addictive.

The government of our country right now is peddling meth to the youth and opioids to the adults while keeping weed illegal. Think about that for a second. Let the absolute absurdity of that statement sink in.

So thank you lobbyist and big pharma and sherrifs offices and establishment politicians world wide. Thank you for forcing me to go to a doctor and a pharmacy, both government funded, and take government subsidized and funded opiates, meth, and speed instead of just letting me sit at my house and smoke a little weed.

frick Washington DC.

I can't do it because my insurance says no.

I'm technically subject to testing at work but they never ask. I assume they only would if I had an on the job accident.

I have mental problems. It's either do some drugs or snap. I'd rather do the one that's not addictive and not harmful.

..or tobacco. The way they can be legal is that a majority of people will not allow their glass of wine with dinner..or tailgate party, to be made a crime.

Sure you can. How do you think the rise in pot use got to where it is today.

I understand that but there are many things illegal in life that we do anyway, as long as we think we can get away from it.

We lost the murder war at leased 10,000 years ago. Let's legalize it and tax it.
