No way she is flipping.

Someone call Mike Johnson. He needs to nominate Scalise.

I'm telling you Baws, he's a way better deal than McCarthy.

Jordan is all bluster, and I think he's too much of a showboat (and gets too much $$$$ from Big Tech) to be effective.

Scalise can work the McCarthy wing of the R party with a check on him by Louisiana voters.

McCarthy and the rest of the freaking Uniparty need to be taught a lesson.

Disappointed there are no congressional republicans from MO on that list....looks like I need to give Sam Graves a ring-a-ding.

This is a cluster lol

Can 6 Repubs vote for Jefferies and then in couple weeks, find that commonly liked minority leader and have a floor vote to toss Jeffries ?

I mean…Repubs have the votes so no Dem bill could pass so, there would be no “harm”
In the rare event something like that happened, how would the minority positions be decided? Are those just unofficial positions anyway?

They need to thunderdome this, would get massive ratings and only the people who really wanted it would go for it.

Agreed - but at least he has to risk losing an election if he pisses off his actual constituents, unlike McCarthy. Who lives in fricking California. You want someone who can get elected in California making the policy agenda for the House of Representatives?

Scalise has enough credibility with the Milquetoasts to be able to corral them, and perhaps GET THEM TO ACTUALLY VOTE FOR shite WE WANT instead of having to ingest the routine shite sandwiches force fed to us by McCarthy.

War Room is playing the Chip Roy vid clip where he torches the whole sitting gaggle of congress....there were a lot of congress members who looked really uncomfortable hearing Roy speak the truth.

So now that they have had 3 votes, do they have to go for 2?

At this point, I am actually thriving on the nervousness that lispy B List Paul Ryan is experiencing.

This is the kind of fight that is healthy for a marriage.

If I have to be in a marriage with a bunch of freaking GOPe pantywaists - at least they have to give me my way once in a while.

The country is not going to fall apart if Kevin McCarthy isn't the speaker. Mitch McConnell and Brett Baier will just get the vapors, and Kevin McCarthy will be rendered irrelevant. Far worse shite could happen if Kevin McCarthy is the speaker than not.

Need some civics help here. If Jefferies were to somehow be speaker with a minority caucus, what are the main powers he would have in that scenario? Other than things like House rules, does he get to control committees I assume?

Really not sure it matters. They wouldn't have the votes for the really crazy stuff they want like court packing or voting bills, and the RINOs don't get to pretend like they are forming any meaningful opposition.

Look whether people want to see it or not, you have to respect the now 20 members of Congress who have stated they refuse to vote without main pillars of the true America First agenda are included in the Speakers platform

So who’s right here?

Looks like the same old shot we’ve been seeing from the Republican Party for years - it’s truly split and they infighting will only continue as Americans get frustrated back home in their districts

The ones who appear the most “crazy” or whatever appear to be the only ones left with a shred of dignity IMO

Hopefully this has forced the party to listen and make concessions that are actually
Meaningful - one can only be hopeful

Now if they are fighting and crying amongst each other over committee assignments and personal grievances then I’ll retract everything I previously posted about these members

I’m sure the truth is somewhere in the murky middle of the swamp as usual
