Republican efforts to make this a failure is costing us (like $28 billion for the govt shutdown).

Reid and Ogump shut the government down. One of the continuing resolutions was a perfectly clean resolution--it would have funded the government for the 2014 fiscal year and delayed the individual mandate for one year (same deal businesses got for the employer mandate). Reid and Obama refused to pass that resolution. They shut down the government because screwing the little people was so important to them.

Look if you folks want to equivocate slavery with mandated health insurance, have at it. I'll not try to convince you otherwise.

Don't get uppity because people are reacting to your unbelievably stupid assertion that it is American to support a law regardless of how earth shatteringly retarded it is.

When you say incomprehensibly dumb things on here be prepared to be called out on it.

Since you're obviously a bit slow, I'll help you out. No one is comparing the merits of the ACA and slavery, only that both were/are terrible practices that should be opposed.

Your arse has been thoroughly whipped in this thread.

Give it up.

I'll admit that I'm out-numbered. I'm not really into message board victories, but go ahead and pin a medal on everybody.

I'm open to hear the other side. I'm not harmed by it and I might learn something.

Well, we do not know, but we can make reasonable expectations. When the executive and legislators who so fervently pushed for it are reluctant to move forward with the intended law, there may be cause for concern.

I am going to take a shot in the dark here and say because its full implementation keeps getting delayed?

I don't need to be kicked in the nuts to know its a bad idea.

That said, the program is a been a wreck since implementation. From technical delays, to a lack of participation, to the the loss of hundreds of thousands of quality plans that people wanted to keep, the Act has failed on every level. It's been so bad that the President who triumphed it as his crowning achievement is now unilaterally (and probably unconstitutionally) dismantling it in order to try and save his party's midterm election prospects.

Why don't you ask the Obama administration that question since they keep delaying it and making changes to it without congressional approval?

Because it hasn't been fully implemented yet and it's already cost millions of people their healthcare plan when Obama promised otherwise.

Not to mention the negative effects it's had on jobs and hiring.

I don't consider myself a "liberal", but around here I probably am. Regardless, you should loosen up a little and have some confidence in yourself around those who might think differently.

In principle, he's right. I agree.

But he's the one who's mandating this healthcare

There is thinking differently, such as thinking one team is better than another team. And then there is being flat out wrong. The entire history of the U.S. and all the facts you care to find show clearly that basically any liberal position regarding a fiscal issue is so incredibly wrong, misleading, and deceptive that it just pisses me off. They just want to redistribute wealth, and I refuse to associate with anyone who condones the government taking my money to give to others just like I would refuse to associate with a child rapist or a murderer.

I'm sorry, but if you are in your 20s, having catatropshic coverage and a HSA is not personally irresponsible.

He increased cost of health care for little gain, and blithely sidesteps it by "Well you should give up stuff you could otherwise afford."
