You'll have a set of gay 15 year old twins marry each other and their adult aunt and her cat.

As long as they are consenting adults why do you care.

Another good example of The Law of Unintended Consequences.

Freedom? More people minding their own fricking business? Less judgmental douchebaggery? More spirituality and less religious idolatry?

I'm not sure allowing people to define a family as they see fit really defines anarchy. I think the government defining family is definitely a step in the wrong direction.

If everyone believed the things they find unacceptable in society were outlawed we'd have a society in which I really wouldn't want to participate.

Unfortunately we have a lot of folks who believe want to outlaw the things they find distasteful and most social conservatives and most liberals fit into these groups.

Thanks for the non answer. Having some form of order isn't fascism.

No kidding. Thanks for making my point that more personal freedom does not equal anarchy.

we don't define marriage, that's the point. I have my own personal definition of marriage, but I don't believe the government should enforce my definition or anyone elses. People should be allowed to define it for themselves. Like I said before, the only regulations the government should have on marriage are laws that protect children from marriage.

so do you want to allow Gays to be married?

if the government shouldn't define marriage than there is no point to push for gay marriage. You should also do away with civilly recognized marriage all together.

If you are going to push for gay marriage you have to redefine the classic definition of marriage.

Why should anything be illegal? Or let me ask it this way, why should something be illegal?

I didn't say I objected to anything. You sound like you're objecting to the notion that a set of gay twins would want to get married to their aunt and her house cat. Who are you to say what's right and wrong for them?

How else would local police departments pad their coffers if not by confiscating private property used in "crimes"? How else would the CIA fund clandestine operations than by funneling illegal drugs through our boarders? Why else should something be illegal?

Here is just one example of exploitation. A man sets up an international business. He will marry any woman who wants to come to the U.S. on a permanent visa due to spouse.

He charges $1,000 per wife. Marries 1,000 wives per week. Eventually millions from the 3rd world are living here. It's not that hard to do.
A truly brilliant scheme, assuming of course DSS agents, who already deal with far more sophisticated monogamous sham marriage arrangements, don't spit up their coffee when they see someone marrying 1,000 foreign nationals per week and immediately subpoena the guy's bank accounts and start hauling people in for separate interviews.

Laugh all you want...

People scoffed at Scalia when he said Lawrence would be used as a basis to legalize gay marriage.

This is very easy to answer. Something should only ever be illegal if it infringes upon the rights of ANOTHER person. Your rights stop where mine begin and vice versa. So as long as I am not doing anything that infringes upon your rights, I should absolutely be free to do it. Period.
