Ok? And I should give a frick, why?

Yes, and if will allow gays to marry, humans will cease to exist because everyone will eventually become gay or something. Hyperbole - the language of social conservatives.

we don't define marriage, that's the point. I have my own personal definition of marriage, but I don't believe the government should enforce my definition or anyone elses. People should be allowed to define it for themselves. Like I said before, the only regulations the government should have on marriage are laws that protect children from marriage.

The Law of Unintended Consequences.

Here is just one example of exploitation. A man sets up an international business. He will marry any woman who wants to come to the U.S. on a permanent visa due to spouse.

He charges $1,000 per wife. Marries 1,000 wives per week. Eventually millions from the 3rd world are living here. It's not that hard to do.

a. He doesn't have to have sex with them. He just needs to do the paper work.

b. Once he is a success in his business 1,000s of other men will copy the business model.

c. U.S. women will copy and make the deal with 3rd world men.

If we had open borders we wouldn't have that issue and if we eliminated the welfare state completely then people wouldn't be dying to come to America

1,000 wives per week? Why not 10,000, you know, since it seems hyperbole is your only weapon.

It's not hyperbole at all. It's not going to be ONE person. It will be tons once the law is enacted. My scenario is not even hypothetical. It exists NOW. But only on a 1 to 1 business exchange with a foreign 'fake wife.'

i think it is insane that polygamy is illegal.

I am generally against criminalizing victimless crimes.

It isn't a victimless crime. If we allow adults to marry multiple other consenting adults then there will be anarchy. I'm not sure what kind of anarchy exactly but it will be the end of America. It says it somewhere in the Bible, I think.

Sure it does. You just aren't "interpreting it" correctly.

The government's only stake in marriage is regarding taxes and inheritance. My question is how married filing jointly is handled with multiple spouses.

I don't think it can be now that the door has been opened wide by the gay marriage position.

Yet you failed to answer his question... He's asking you why it should be, since you started this thread because you are obviously against it.

If it's against the civil rights for one group to marry how can it not be a breach of a polygamists right to marry multiple wives?
