How powerful is the F&D board with the South LA dining scene?

Apparently second only to yelp. We know Tommy Fitz lurks. Apparently lots of restauranteurs do as well.

Know of a couple who lurk the site. One has figured out who I was by putting his golf game on blast.

I'm sure many of them frequent this board. When u google a restaurant, links to TD boards pop up often on the feed.

That's because Google knows how much time you spend here. You think everyone's Google results are the same?

Zero power. I think most of y'all are hicks, with shitty taste in food.

This is true (evidenced when you search a local business and you're out of town so it doesn't pop up). But to be fair, Googling a restaurant list in 2009 is exactly how I found TD to begin with.
Now, when I want to know about a restaurant, I search the name and "tigerdroppings" since I trust people here more than Yelp.

Without a doubt. I'm sure that's the case for many people. I'm just talking about how people search for something and are amazed that TD shows up as their first result all of the time and then come here(TD in General) and post it.

I wouldn't call this board "powerful". I think it's informative and you have to pick through posts to decide upon which ones you would rely.
I do think some restauranteurs lurk and some may take info from here to improve on a few things and disregard others. I think some posters are friends with some chefs/owners and may alert them to posts which those folks might find of interest for one reason or another.
If the board wasn't informational, I wouldn't read it, but I find it to be very useful in cooking and looking at restaurants.

While I agree, if it was ONLY informational I wouldn't read it.
Some days we need a bit more Count Chocula.
