Coming in at the end of March, half of the group has never been so looking for places to take everyone. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thursday - it will only be 3 of us, so somewhere nice and low key. Not going to be getting too wild so pretty much open for anything.

Friday - all 15 of us will be going, this will be our "nice dinner". Preferably somewhere with a private room in case a few of us start getting loud/drunk we don't have to worry about offending everyone in the restaurant. (Someone has mentioned La Boca chefs table?)

Saturday - just looking for somewhere casual with TVs since the NCAA tourney will be going on. Chances are we will be pretty drunk by dinner so looking more for a good atmosphere versus a quality culinary experience.

TIA

ETA: staying downtown

I assume yu are staying downtown/french quarter?

Thursday I would suggest going to Domenica and getting some pizza. It's some of the best in town. They have other stuff and the menu is somewhat eclectic, but the pizza is sound. THey have an awesome happy hour if you get in town for that.

Peche in the warehouse disctrict would be great for Thursday night as well but get a reservation.

Friday...The La Boca chef's table is a great idea. Cochon might also be a good bet too. I'm not sure about a private room though.

Saturday you could go to Barcadia to watch te ball games. There is also Mannings and Walk On's but their food is average to below average.

I don't think this exists.

Peche on Thursday.
Friday: 15 is a big table. Maybe consider Domenica, or call Herbsaint. You could possibly grab the back room.
Saturday: Parkway

LaBoca has a tasting menu, but not a chefs table. You need to be a party of 4.

15 is too big for that space. Hell 15 is too big for any restaurants in my opinion. If it works with your group I would get 2 tables of 8 and 7, will function a lot better I think just make sure they're next to each other. Somewhere like Domenica or Luke or Desi Vega would be good for that just get reservations far in advance.

Domenica has a back room that would be a good spot.

Of course, trying to corral 15 drunk -ish guys for a dinner in New Orleans is going to be a serious undertaking. God bless you and good luck.

For real. That's a tall order. I can't stand going to dinner with more than 6 or 7 people, I can't imagine a table of 15.

Sidebar: I finally watched the Latino Restaurants of NOLA last night and caught your cameo.

It looks like it was shot over a year ago?

Yeah, we realize that. Majority will be getting is Friday so everyone will make it to dinner then. We just wanted to have spot picked for Saturday so if we get split up during the day we have a good chance of all meeting back up again. If not it would most likely just turn into a free for all.

Me neither.

I remember in early college, it was the thing for people to invite all of their friends to a dinner for their birthday. I grew to hate it FAST. A bunch of college kids who are likely broke, everyone has separate checks, etc.

I'd definitely recommend finding a place with a private room.

It was damn near impossible for me to make a dinner reservation that I was comfortable bringing 15+ drunk dudes to. I eventually gave up and I don't think anyone cared. I just think it is a waste of $$$ at that point as everyone is obliterated. I ended up just calling the Rusty Nail and using the side patio area they have at no cost.

We did do Galatoires on Friday for lunch (I think we had 10) and it was very fun. Depending on when OPs party gets in, you and the 3 others could get up there early and hold a big table for 8-10 as people get in.

Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse will put you in a private room, we've done that for bachelor parties several times.

It's also across the street from the tit bar

I would watch. Of course, in a few years every restaurant will be operated by Besh or Link.

I can't believe I still haven't tried Taqueria Guerrero.

A trolley to Mandina's on Saturday night might be a good idea. They will take a 15 top reservation, can handle big tables and it's casual.
