I actually started shaving with cold water recently. I have very sensitive skin, and it has really helped.

This. Changed my life.

Just shaved like its 1935. Gillette NEW SC with bar handle. My new acquisition. My newest is a 1957 Blue Tip Super Speed.

Broke out Bigelowe (Proraso) green.

I am growing a beard now so I am mastering neck shaving. but did get one nick tonight. Wrong blade for the razor.

I found the buttress...wasn't that great

You don't buttress bro! Nor do you pitch, capitulate, or stretch your mix. And you sure as F@)K don't compound or gloss. Poser.

You bastard. I'm jelly. I think my dad threw his away. From old memory I think he had a black handle super speed or schick Krona.

I think I'm going to try the lavender next.

If you have any chance to smell before you buy, do so. I've smelled it. It is love it or hate it. They also have a grapefruit. They NAILED the smell of a grapefruit. Again, love it or hate it.

I bought a sandalwood soap, and I hated the smell. I had heard people like it. And the smell seemed fine initially, but once I lathered it, it was way too strong.

Edwin Jagger DE 89, prefer Platinum or Wilkinson Sword blades, and Simpson Colonel X2L Badger brush. For prep I use King of Shaves Kinexium oil, and I currently have several varieties of Taylor of Old Bond Street creams (grapefruit, lavender and rose) and some Niven Morgan cream. I think the Niven Morgan is my favorite - but they are all good. After I use Geo. F. Trumpler Indian Limes Skin Food, then after that dries I use L'occitane Cade cream aftershave. A good shave is a luxury for sure.

Shave in the shower with "Kiss your face" shaving cream and the same Gillette mach II I have used for 20 years. Why all the fuss over new fangled crap? Does it give you a blow job when you shave? It's shaving for chrissakes.

I have the merkur 38c barber pole and I switched to bigelo green with eucalyptus. It's amazing. Feathers are a must.

This is Proraso repackaged as Bed Bath & Beyond, right? I started with the green, but that white is heavenly. Oatmeal and shite.

Yes and is sold at bath and body works. $10 for a tube that lasts me forever and has a great, refreshing feel.

I follow it up with Nivea aftershave lotion.

A Gillette Mach II is a much more "new-fangled" razor than any of the DE ones listed above. DE blade shaving is significantly cheaper than cartridge shaving.

Yea, I don't know the shaving nomenclature. Straight razors I guess?...but feathers? what the hell do you do with that? It all sounds very metrosexual.

After shaving? Why not just splash water on your face?

People have been wet shaving since before "metrosexual" was even a word. And Feathers is brand of Japanese razor blades. The sharpest.
