At first it was only in a few spots in my front yard, but now it is everywhere. The centipede grows through it but it has to be hurting the grass.

What can I spray it with? When?

Thanks.

Edit: Holy huge photo. Anyone know how to make the pic smaller?

I have that as well, it showed up big time this year after I sprayed with atrazine and 2,4d in the dpring.

After the image URL but before [/image], you just have to add a space then width=600 for 600 pixels wide:

Replacing [ with {, example:
{img}example.com/example.jpg width=600{/img}

I have a ton of it as well...atrazine is cheap and will kill it pretty easily...

not sure I would mess with it this late in the year though, as you are gonna leave some bare spots in the yard that won't fill in before winter...I would spray the shite out of it in early spring when the grass can cover...

What Spankum said. I believe MSM will work as well, but is harder to get. May be restricted.

Purslane is larger and has a very tender, red stem. Grows in open areas, wouldn't make it through the centipede.

Gang, don't blame me! I live in Virginia and have never seen or even heard of this stuff until yall started posting about it. There's none of it here in my yard or fields as near as I can tell. Wonder why it's called VIRGINIA buttonweed when there ain't none of it here in my part of Virginia??? I believe this stuff is really a Yankee transplant and was secretly and malisciously brought down there.

That's not buttonweed If you want something for buttonweed by celcius, or MSM will not harm the grass, in summer heat like 24D will, I use 1/8 of a teaspoon to a gallon of water of MSM,

I've got it too. 2,4D will kill it, but it's my understanding that it grows in hard, packed yards and that you need to aerate in order to keep it under control.
