it moved after the tracer round already passed its head. What's the big deal here?
No big deal here. Cat just has fast reflexes and the video is interesting, at least to me and a few other folks....

What kind of scope is he using? My old scope had an illuminated red dot like this, but that old scope is not functioning any more. I liked the red dot much better than cross hairs. The little "dot" made it much easier for me to get on and stay on the target. ...
make sure to keep it clean and out of the weather if you can.
This. My 6 foot BH is 30 years old. Always keep it in the barn and clean the grass and weeds off it after I use it. Still looks good for a 30 year old piece of heavily used equipment, dents and all....

Yep, and bumblebees, yellow jackets, and hornets are considerable faster than a John Deere 5065E. (or an old M-F 50, too!)...

Nice rig! Now you ain't lived til you get into some old rusty barb wire or a yellow jacket/hornet nest with that bush hog. And it will happen! Been there, done that, too!...

re: Carpenter bee trap - BFIV
I put out three of these. Ordered em from Amazon for 10 bucks each without the attractant, or you can get em from Lowes for about 12 bucks each. I used my own attractant recipe: 1 part apple cider vinegar to 1 part of sugar water solution (1/2 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water) and ONE drop of Daw...

re: Carpenter bee trap - BFIV
Been gonna build one of these for a week now. Maybe tomorrow if I don't forget...again. It's been kind of cool here this week, though, and they've slowed down a little bit . On a side note, my yellowjacket queen trap is working. Caught another big queen today using vinegar/sugar water solution for...

Tornadoes down there? - BFIV
Been watching this system develop and it looks like some of yall may get slammed? Supposed to be here late tomorrow afternoon or evening. They're predicting baseball size hail for some parts of our region. I guess I'll be moving the other vehicles into the barn before that happens. I've never ex...
I just plant about 10 times more than I need
This will work, but it's a two edged sword. The more plants you have, the more vine borers and squash bugs you have in your area and overwinter in the ground each year. ...
Slugs are eating my pepper plants like crazy. I put little containers out in my garden with Schlitz Malt Liquor. They get in, get drunk, and drown. I've killed a bunch, but I think they sent for reinforcements.
If your garden area is small enough to put a 12 inch tall c...

Go ahead and just discard any of your current post bloom fruits. Count the days from your application and you will be just fine. You can spray the eggs with water/Dawn solution right now and kill the eggs. That's labor intensive, though, but it works....
Either that or I will have to just pitch the squash for the next three weeks.
I guess it depends on the kind of vegetable damage you currently are experiencing? One strategy is to go ahead and treat your current plants now and sacrifice their production. However...you will be ki...
I heard that this works with stink bugs as well. Thanks for the tips.
I've had stink bugs (squash bugs) out the ying yang for the last two years. I fight em all winter long, too. They like to hide around the base of the squash, cucumber, and melon vine. I spray the dickens out...

re: Prepare for battle. Squash borers have arrived! - BFIV
You can also use organic control to mitigate squash vine borers. One way is to take a shallow pan, paint it yellow and fill it with water/Dawn solution. The yellow attracts the squash vine borer adult flies and they drown in the solution. ...
I'm going to try injecting BTK into the stems this year of any holes I find to see if this will work. That and weekly spraying of insecticidal soap.
Too late by then. Cut off that stem and burn it. If the leaves have started to wilt, forget trying to save it. The larvae are eating...
