BP spill and some other questions... - BFIV
Was just wondering if the marshes and coastal habitat down there are coming back? And I've never been able to find out just exactly WHAT caused the fire on the platform that started this whole disaster? I know absolutely zilch about offshore drilling rigs. Never have seen one except in yall's pic...

re: Night Bass Fishing - BFIV
I don't think I have ever seen a snake at night on the water, but it is dark
I sure have (at Eufaula). That one night broke me of suckin eggs. They were all at least 10 feet long, were six inches in diameter, their heads were as big as both of my fists put together, and they all ...

re: Night Bass Fishing - BFIV
Fished more at night than in the daytime up here in the mountains. Used to go to Lake Eufaula every summer. It was so hot during the day that I went out at night ONE time. My neck was sore from swiveling around so much making sure no cottonmouths crawled in the boat. At night, on the water, in a ...

More fun than a NASCAR race... - BFIV
Looks like a lot of fun! These folks are serious about their garden tillers. I'm way too old to keep up with one of these machines now. [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSZBZqw-3u8)]LINK[/link]...

re: Should Churches Have Guns? - BFIV
Nehemiah 4:9 "GOD'S WORD® Translation "But we prayed to our God and set guards to protect us day and night." Several different translations are available, but this one is the most direct and simplest to comprehend. Yes, it is ok to have arms to protect yourself and your family in church. Even Ch...

re: Deck Restoration - BFIV
Good thread. Mama BFIV has been after me to put this stuff on our back deck. I read those same reviews, too. Mixed reviews. I don't want to make a mess of the back deck if this stuff starts peeling off, and I sure don't want to spend that much money on something that doesn't work as advertised. ...

Tennessee copperhead bites dogs... - BFIV
Just saw this article in an East Tennessee regional newspaper. 42 inches long. That's a big copperhead. Nothing overly special about the story, but some interesting pics of the legless reptile. re: Gun ID help needed........ - BFIV
The single shot is a J.C. Higgins brand, sold by S & R. Different manufacturers made these guns under the J.C. Higgins brand for Sears & Roebuck. The name was later changed to the Ted Williams brand. My dad has a 12 gauge BOLT ACTION J.C. Higgins. Heavy as the dickens, too.[link=(http://en.wikip...

re: Quick fix for Dixie Youth in a hitting slump? - BFIV
At what age should you really start working on a fundamentally sound batting stance/swing?
I can tell you from experience that coaching a women's plant softball team is a far cry from inexperienced kids. Give me the kids ANYTIME. Women won't listen to a word the coach says. And...

re: Quick fix for Dixie Youth in a hitting slump? - BFIV
Confidence is a big factor, too. Once they put the bat on the ball, even if it is a dribbling ground ball, they know they can hit it. Those "granny" swings are what really bothers me. And they know it!...

re: Quick fix for Dixie Youth in a hitting slump? - BFIV
Couple of things I did that helped my granddaughters who were 12 and 13. Go to your local athletics store and buy a bag of those perferated, plastic golf balls. They are much smaller than a baseball and help develope hand/eye coordination. They don't go very far when hit. I also went old, old sch...

re: Browning safe question... - BFIV
All browning safes start off as 123456, at least the digital locks do. You enter in your own combination after you buy it. If he wrote something down, he probably changes it. Locksmith will be able to open it, no problem.
Thanks, DSD! I'll certainly pass this information on to...
