re: 2016 Linebacker Attrition - KG5989
Marcus Spears was a tight end converted to defensive end. Beckwith was a high school QB. I'd say they handled the transition well. Think before you post.
Spears went both ways and actually practiced at both DE and TE spots. And became a full time DE after the 4th or 5th game of his...

re: The Ducre era - who else thinks he turns a lot of heads as a true frosh? - KG5989
In reality, Fournette will get the bulk, Guice will pass Williams before November, and Ducre will only have a few yards
This... It's gonna be the LF and Guice era. DWill will get a series here and there to spell LF and Ducre will get a little work at both RB and FB. But LF will...

re: Brandon Harris mechanics - KG5989
Harris' mechanics are fine, as is his passing ability. Its all about knowing the playbook and playing with confidence for him. If hes confident in the offense and in his reads, he will play with confidence and show off his good mechanics and big time passing ability. If hes not confident in ...

re: Any chance of LSU having 2) 1000 yard rushers this season? - KG5989
Is guice > Williams or is Williams > Guice?
I think Guice will get the 2nd most touches for us this year. And i like DWill a lot, but Guice is the real deal and gonna be a stud for us. Think Cadillac Williams @ Auburn. ...

re: Any chance of LSU having 2) 1000 yard rushers this season? - KG5989
Only chance of it would be LF + Guice. We won't have 2 RBs both getting 180+ carries, especially considering LF should get the lions share of the carries the next 2 seasons. The RB2 would have to get at least 150carries and average a ridiculous yards per carry, like 6.6-6.7ypc just to be close....

re: 2016 Linebacker Attrition - KG5989
so we don't have to rely on three true freshmen or subpar lettermen)
So you would rather rely on a WR turned FB, a RB, and a fullback instead of relying on guys that are actual Lbers? Teuhema is the only defensive player you listed and I'm pretty sure he's working at some OLBer. ...

re: Is Alexander Quick Enough to Play RT? - KG5989
Which is why I said there's some disparity about where Vadal might play in the NFL... It all comes down to his weight. I mean Lael is 6'5 322lbs. Vadal is listed at 6'6 and if he can stay between 315-325lbs, I can see him playing RT in the NFL. ...

re: Is Alexander Quick Enough to Play RT? - KG5989
Yes he is... He already has shown he can play RT and do a damn good job there. He was a Freshman All American there. And he's dropped 15lbs or so already and that will just add to his quickness and agility. And I know there is some disparity about what position he's best suited for in the NF...

re: Thoughts on Clapp at center? - KG5989
OL depth really worries me though
Uhh what? The OL might be the deepest part of our team. The 5 starters + KJ Malone, Brumfield and Dodd. Dillon Gordon is a 300lbs TE. And then we arguably had the best OL recruiting class in 2015 with Maea Teuhema, George Brown, Chidi, Toby W...

re: Breakout offensive and defensive player this year? - KG5989
Pocic would have been a first round draft choice had he been eligible. He's the best offensive lineman in the Miles era (recruited by Miles).
No and no. And Pocic is very good and everyone loves him and he has a bright future, but it's just way too soon to say this. ...

re: Breakout offensive and defensive player this year? - KG5989
Last year it was Avaery Peterson.
Actually most of the Avery Peterson hype was generated on here. A lot of people assumed that since he is PPs brother, that he would be a stud and breakout for us. Miles, the staff, and other players didn't talk about Avery Peterson nearly as mu...

re: question about Debo Jones - KG5989
I suspect they'll put the best 3 LBs on the field
Which Debo is...
Jones is just small; seems to lack instinct. Hasn't shown anything in 3 years outside of special teams. Don't think he's the answer but we'll see
He's not a big LBer by any means, but he's big enoug...

re: Lewis Neal & Tashawn Bower - KG5989
I think Neal is gonna be really good. IMO, he will lead the team in sacks and TFL. Coach O loves Neal. Said he can be a Trent Cole type of player. He's extremely strong (played DT last year at 250lbs so that tells you the type of strength he has), explosive, and relentless. Think he becomes ...

re: Best Trio of WR in the NFL - KG5989
Fitz Floyd John Brown
Yep. Arizona was 1 of the first teams I thought of when I saw this thread. Along with Green Bay, Indy, and Pitt. I like the Giants group as well. But a lot depends on how Cruz returns. And if the Lions can have a WR3 emerge, they would be up there ...

re: Should fournette return kick offs - KG5989
18th in the nation is mediocre? Wow!! With our athletes. Yeah, not good enough.
:rotflmao:Wow. LF averaged 26.0yards per kick return. OBJ averaged just 26.9 in 2013. In 2012, Ford averaged 27.5yards per return (surprise). In 2011, Mo averaged 25.1yards per return. PP average...

re: Should fournette return kick offs - KG5989
Considering the workload we all except LF to receive this year at RB, i don't think he should be returning kicks. He's gonna need every break he can get and risk injury as well. Plus, we have guys more than capable of handling the returns as well. I think Guice will be back there returning kicks, al...
