I've searched tigerdroppings, but its a little tough to find some results with the exact "answers"...
Had a neighbor asked me if someone came by my house the other night around 9:30 and ask for someone. She said it scared her b/c she thought the lady was casing her house. We weren't home and it set off a tic for an old need... I have a good bit of gun knowledge experience, but it is "old" so to speak. I worked/sold guns for about 3.5-4yrs, but that was late 90s. So, i'm out the loop.
i'm looking to spend about $1500 on a 1911. Kimber was the shite back then, but i know they had issues not to long ago. I don't know any of the guys that work where i used to, so I need some help.
I want a full size. Don't necessarily need a rail. Have heard, read good things about the TRP in that range, but also about the Dan Wesson... Any ideas/recs?

Didn't think that was going all in?
Figured, that would get me something mid range in this day and age. Always, loved shooting them. I really like the Kahr full size, but if i'm spending that kind of money.... i just assume get this. A good size bonus has upped my purchase price budget a tad

Sounds like you're reacting to a single incident, and it's going to become a safe queen in about 6 months.
Are you sure you want an all steel pistol?
Just put a good coat of oil on it before you stick it in the top of the closet.....

the upgrade in quality for home defense is negligible compared to the ability to have 2 sides of your house packing.
