The rarely mentioned Pizzicare closed last weekend.

Sadly, never tried it but heard they were decent.

nola

Closed but not for good.

In the fall, Baron and Bell plan to reopen the Pizzicare location as a lunch-only restaurant offering pizza by the slice, po-boys, plate lunches and staples from Crescent Pie and Sausage.

It was pretty good. They would probably thrive once the hospital was opened. Oh well. Hope something decent goes in that spot but I doubt it.

You never even tried it? How can you be sad to see it go?

Ancora was probably much better anyway...

It was pretty good. I think they just got there a bit prematurely.

Agree that it was a bit ahead of its time for the area...not enough foot traffic, yet. I liked the space and the pepperoni sticks.

That's what the owner mentioned. This seems like they are buying time until things get rolling in the area. I wonder if they own the building?...

Pizzacare is a really horrible name for a restaurant.

Ate there a couple times because it was near my office. It was okay, not my favorite but not bad.

It was alright. I wish they had succeeded given the area.

I ate there pretty often for lunch as it was close to work. I thought it was pretty good and it's convenient to be able to buy a slice and a drink

I thought it was great. The crescent sausage pie was really good.

How similar were they to Crescent Pie? I really enjoy their pizza, but never tried PC. I can't imagine they would put a similar style place that close to Crescent Pie.

It was fairly different and I prefer crescent. Care was more focused on fresh veggies grown in a garden near by garden if I remember correctly.

I never tried it, but I agree...it's a terrible name.
