I went to an event in the bar area of CL and enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres. Tuna and beef tartare were both on point. I also really enjoyed the Kibbeh Naya from Shaya, and felt like it was a large portion....

The Ritz is probably the best. Before I lived here I stayed in the Pere Marquette a lot and really liked it. There's a nice bar on the first level....

I wasn't overly impressed with the food in Rome. I've never been to Paris, so I can't comment there. ETA: if you do end up in Rome check out the Trastevere neighborhood. That's where we found the best food/atmosphere....
