Honeymoon destination ideas in the Caribbean/Bahamas, etc. - need help

We know we want a beach destination that is relatively close so we can maximize vacation time and minimize travel time. We can only take a week and a half off of work.
Things we want:
-Quiet beach (no college kids)
-No Mexico
-Half day travel at worst (so like 12 hours tops)
-Hopefully some clear-ish water
-Outside of the US
-I am open to all-inclusive, but for some reason I feel like that is for Spring Breakers, not honeymooners.
Ideas so far:
-Dominican Republic
-Turks and Caicos
-St. Lucia
-Barbados
Anyone have experience, either good or bad, with these places? Or have other recommendations?

We went to Key West. Southwest has a direct flight, takes about an hour an a half.

where ever you decide bring some skitter spray!
Bad stuff from what I understand....don't bring it back to the Louisiana skitter population!

Galley Bay Resort in Antigua
-All inclusive
-Secluded, not too many rooms
-Great food and drink
-Clear water
Don't do Sandals or some shite that's what the GDI's do. We passed by one in Antigua and there was about 1,000 guidos out on the beach.

Try the Excellence, Punta Cana in the Dominican. My wife and I had a great time there. Travel was easy.

I know I will catch shite for this because OT hates cruises, but last year we flew to San Juan for a few days and on a whim booked a 7 day out of San Juan the day before it left and it was a blast. The ship sailed every night and woke up in different place. We would get off the boat, do whatever we wanted all day, get back on and relax.
We hit St Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Maarten, St Kitts - came back and stayed another couple days in Old San Juan before coming home.
It was one of the most relaxing trips I have been on.

Mexico isn't that bad of a place as long as you aren't in the boonies.
I'd just fly into Curacao, San Juan, or Playa del Carmen and enjoy the local ways for a week. All inclusive is just a hotel with a buffet and a pool/beach area.

Screw the Caribbean, what a racket. I've been all over the Caribbean, it's much of the same with the wealth gap and poverty being the fluid variable.
Take two weeks, fly to Koh samui, Thailand, take a ferry to Koh Tao and rent a villa. Flights will be expensive but you can rent a staffed private villa with a private pool for the price of a nice hotel room in desirable Caribbean locales. Factor in the absurd currency conversions and food is negligible, at worst. $1-2 beers, nice sit down meals with drinks for $25-30. No Americans and few kids, people seem to actually enjoy life.
We did 20 days, living like royalty, in villa massages daily, went to 4 locations and we were all in for under $13,000.

-Turks and Caicos
-St. Lucia
Add St. John to the list. The nice thing about St. John is that you can day trip to a number of other islands including Tortola and Jost van Dyke.
