re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - Golfer
Whatever you do make sure someone on the trip is paying for the flights and that credit card is with them. That many one way international bookings is an good indicator to be flagged somewhere along the way for checkin in person. ...

re: MSY Parking - Golfer
I dont like the walk from long term parking to the terminal so we'd have to see about that. If it was JUST me, it might be different but with a wife and daughter I end up with the bulk of the luggage. We only fly for leisure/travel about 5/6 times a year.
Drop them curbsi...

re: Hotel reservation question -- individual nights as opposed to one continuous reservation - Golfer
I wouldn't even call ahead. That opens the door for the one over the top revenue manager to look into the reservation and make OP's stay difficult. Just check in and when they say "we have you here for one night" inform them you have two more nights on other reservations. And you'd prefer to kee...

re: MSY Parking - Golfer
It's the sales tax for Kenner plus some airport fee that MSY started making them pay to drive their buses onto airport property. If you do a dummy pre-pay reservation on Park N Fly it should break down the fees/taxes before you have to put in your CC info. ...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
Even so the random people that are like "I won't fly UA again!!!!" aren't flying enough to cut into their bottom line. Nor will they remember 18 months from now when UA is $275 cheaper vs. American. ...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
I fly about 50,000-60,000 miles per year with DAL. I've only ever seen them reassign all seats if there was a last minute change in plane types. Maybe they do it more often and I just don't notice.
He's referring to passengers that don't have status and therefore don't have acces...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
Nah i flew atl-btr last week and they were doing it for all coach/evonomy. I've been through it before so i knew what was up but if they want to make the poor gate agent deal with a long line of confused/stressed passengers who don't get it then thats on them.
They tell you about 1...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
No one should fly for free unless they themselves work for the airline
Eh. I don't have an issue with this. It's just a perk offered. No different than a company extending gym memberships to the family, offering childcare, etc. Most non-revs are only getting seats on a space ...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
excuse my ignorance but, what is a "pass rider"?
Generally part of the benefit packages for each airline employee. Depending on their level of responsibility and seniority, they receive a certain number of "passes" to share with family or friends for them to fly for free or steep...
Are they required to wear a name tag or United logo'd clothing? If not, then nobody would know they are representing the company.
If the employee is flying, they are supposed to wear their ID. Since these passes are an extension of the employee, whomever they share them with ...

re: United sets off Twitter firestorm for forcing teens to change prior to boarding - Golfer
That makes sense, but why justify this separate rule with their being refused if one has nothing to do with the other?
It may be the exact same rule. However, Non-Rev passengers are held to a higher standard as they are representatives of the airline. They don't have to explain t...
