How was your weekend duck hunting?

3 days 110 ducks for me and my crew and some specks. 6 of us limited Friday, 10 man limit Thursday and 14 yest am by 8 and left early. Friday and Saturday every group in our club limited I think all in all we killed 102 and 12 specks Friday, 126 and 2 specks Saturday. Yesterday 49 with 10 hunting.

Got 6 woodies on Saturday in the basin (ETA: two hunters). Knocked down one mallard but didn't recover. Saw a few other flights of big ducks but none came in. Yesterday afternoon at same spot didn't fire a shot. still learning this shite but having a skunk day is pretty frustrating.

Did not get after them this weekend but heard horrible reports from the West Zone.

Im afraid with the split being 5 days (Monday-Friday) season being open EVERY weekend, it will not recover much at all...

Did make a couple of hunts in the marsh just west of White Lake on Wed and Thurs. and waxed the mallards, pintails and teal.

I don't know that anyone hunted our blind this weekend, we were chasing deer.

Buddy of mine went down to Buras and limited out in 20 minutes with 2 hunters. Sucks I couldn't make it. Mostly big ducks, few teal

Had a decent one. Filled up with gadwalls and a stray mallard here or there. Wife killed her first ducks Saturday morning. She is officially hooked! Only she would pull a double on a mallard drake and hen with one shot as her first kills. She makes me sick..... well except for the part where she cooks,takes care of the kids, never bitches about anything, and gives me loving whenever I want it.

Even our geese were mostly gone this weekend.

and it as has been a long time since I have judged what we killed with the success of a hunt.... a long time....


so at the end.. every hunt this weekend was successful

heck I out shot Choupique II for the first time in memory...

and.. .it looks like our GSP will in fact make it as a duck dog.... al beit... I will have to dishonor my brown dawg tradition and put a vest on my dog...
